Key Responsibilities
➢Working in close coordination with the SVP Cost Estimation - PIF Local Real Estate
➢Reviewing of cost estimates / budgets for multiple PIF programs and advising the corrective
measures to be taken to align the budgets as per the current market rates; wherein each
program comprises a mix of multiple hotels, residential buildings, villas, commercial
buildings, retails space, museums, schools, hospitals, mosques, and infrastructure works.
➢Developing and updating the existing database for various asset types, infrastructure works
and professional fees.
➢Reviewing and advising on the RFPs to be issued to cost consultants for the programs.
➢Developing cost control guidelines and procedure to be followed on the programs going
forward.
➢Preparing various reports including budget review reports, intra-department progress report,
etc.
Key Responsibilities
➢Management of all the aspects of estimating workflow for the tenders
through the whole Pre-contract phase
➢Managing estimating activities to include taking ownership of and
presenting the final estimate to the senior management including
Estimation Director, Chief Pre-Contracts and CEO.
➢Managing the preparation, submission and negotiating variations and
claims for the Zayed National Museum project to the Employer’s
Representative.
➢Leading to prepare an accurate and timely cost estimate in
accordance with the tender specification, agreed program and
engineering requirement, ensuring adequate return to the resources
employed.
➢Coordinating with various departments to finalize the relevant issues
regarding the tenders and prepare the risk / opportunity schedule as
well risk mitigating strategy.
➢Detailed analyses and review of various design options/value
engineering (VE) proposals including 3rd party consultants to
calculate the financial impact and risk to the project.
➢Coordination, analyzing and reviewing the JV partner pricing for the
direct works as well as the indirect works for a Joint Venture (JV)
project.
➢Developing and managing repository for historical data including cost
performance metrics in comparison to estimate
➢Mentoring the estimators and new recruits in the department.
Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
Detailed Analysis and review of various design options/value engineering proposals to calculate the financial impact and risk to the project.
Review proposed cost changes with construction personnel, client and contractors.
Reviewing and analyzing the bids, preparing tender reports and recommending contractors for the projects
Monitor market force and commodity trends- anticipate likely related problems, based on current affairs. Managing the cost analysis of the projects based on BCIS format.
Provide cost input to and implement the cost element of change management procedure & risk management plan
Attending project meetings to provide Project Management with current financial information and trend log regarding potential impacts to project budget or forecast
To assist the VP - Projects Control in budgeting, cost and contract management for the Akoya Master Development in Dubai along with the other projects in Qatar, Lebanon and London (UK). (Akoya Master Development - It includes 2600 nos. Villas, 18 Nos. (G+9) Low Rise Apartments, 12 Nos. (G+28) Mid Rise Apartments Towers and Golf Course with overall built up area of the project more than 22 million sq.ft. and currently one of the largest master development in Dubai) Participation in overall project development stages and preparing budgets / estimates for various design stages Review and undertake cost studies as required to enable the Project Team to consider all options in order to proceed with the optimum scheme & advise on value engineering options. Advise on ‘best value’ procurement options and present to the Senior Management for consideration Coordinate the preparation of tender documents by consultants.
To assist the Commercial Director in estimation and ensuring that all processes are done according to the company standards ensuring that quality and HSE policies are strictly adhered to.
Preparation of project cost estimates, schedules, key development issues, using database, estimating software and project design, preparing inputs and analysis pertinent to construction estimation.
Build up an accurate cost estimate for the permanent works and indirect resources required to carry out the works in accordance with the tender specification, agreed program and engineering requirement to win the tenders.
Coordinate and discuss with engineering expertise and all other departments to discuss the project requirements on behalf of the Estimation Team.
