• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the OSH Department.
• Safety Documentation, Report generation, preparing statistical reports, maintaining all checklists related to safety department, Coordinating for the implementation program, periodically reviewing and revising the OSH documents and update as necessary.
• Complying with the OSHMS, JCI, HAAD/DOH and ISO Standards in the facility, continuous monitoring of the OSH activities, Security, Contractors and housekeeping for the better improvement of Health and Safety of the organization.
• Preventing accidents and work related injuries in the facility, reducing and controlling hazards and risks, maintaining a safe work environment and safe working condition.
• Assists and Coordinate with facility safety inspection and maintains up to date records.
• Actively involves in the maintenance on firefighting equipment, fire protection and prevention equipment’s to ensure the work place fire safety and maintains all records of the same.
• Coordinate and arranges for OSHMS meeting, prepares agenda and records minutes of meetings.
• Controls all OSHMS, HAAD/DOH, JCI & ISO related documents and Maintains records of all other safety related work(e.g.: Induction training for new employees and other special training for specified department, Inspection and Audit records, contractor reports, Task Risk assessment preparation, security reports, incident reports etc.)
• Keeps records of all procured items to ensure safety in our organization, Conduct tool box meetings, and tool box talks to the employees.
• Record keeping for all PTW (Permit to Work) issued to sub-contractor and their review and cancellation.
• Follow ups and coordinate with the concerned contractors for the preventive maintenance for all Vital Utilities and Firefighting Equipment’s and maintains a report for same.
• Coordinate with other branches of Al Salama Hospital (i.e. Al Salama One Day Surgery Center & Al Mafraq Medical Center).Coordinates with Quality/ Safety Representative in other centers for the training, inspection, document works and other health and safety related works.
• Ensures that health and safety requirement met before and when workplace alterations are made or new equipment is installed.
• Record keeping for all incidents, accidents, near miss cases and their recommendation.
• Ensuring that business comply with health and safety legislation of Abu Dhabi in the work place.
• Actively coordinates and involves in conducting fire drills, evaluation, documenting and reviewing and suggesting corrective actions for improvements.
• Performs preventive maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
• Coordinate with safety team to implement and monitor waste management programs and maintains document for the same.
• Collect all data’s required for the Quarterly KPI submission to HAAD OSHMS AD and prepares charts, statistical reports, graphs, reports etc
• Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
• Maintains safety reports, records related to maintenance, inspection and testing of all firefighting, fire protection and fire alarm systems.
• Other duties as assigned
Implementing process for reviewing contractor safety performance against applicable laws, regulations, and district requirements.
Developing & enforcing policies, procedures, programs, standards, and design criteria affecting construction safety of multiple construction projects.
Reviewing and overseeing procedures for investigating construction accidents.
Implementing & maintaining standard policies and procedures for construction safety.
Reviewing construction specifications and advising construction staff on necessary safety modifications.
Implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on safety performance issues such as accidents, “near misses, ” and lost time injury.
Presenting written and oral reports to management, outside agencies and the public.
Directing the work of Environmental Health and Safety staff and outside consultants and contractors regarding new construction safety.
Developing and delivering in house training presentation / courses on health, safety and environmental topics on visual display units VDU including working at height, safe driving practices for contractors employees crane lifting procedures, manual handling technique, safe stacking on site & housekeeping.
Maintaining documents and records of control, conformance and performance relating to objective targets and procedure for evaluating compliance with regulation /orders safety procedures and various safety inspections.
Monitoring the storage, transports, usage and disposal of hazardous material in accordance with corresponding standards and MSDS.
Giving First Aid to all employees and staffs including over the counter medicines.
