As document controller I m currently reviewing the technical and commercial letters and translate them from spanish to english and vice versa for the engineering staff, whose are on charge for a EPC project of a Power Plant located in Venezuela. I also to record the minutes of meeting, comments on drawings for electrical, civil construction and mechanical issues. I m on charge to assigne the coding for communications between the company with the its subcontractors and with the company and the final customer.
As project engineer for this company I was on charge to review drawings and calculation report associated to the construction cable trays, grounding mesh and lighting of an industrial complex located in Merida City related to asphalt and concrete factory.
As project engineer I worked for an EPC project related to construction and commissioning of three high voltage substation belonging to the National Power Grid Company in Venezuela, named CORPOELEC. I was on charge to review the detailed engineering but also the procurement and site inspection of electrical and electromechanical installation. I work together with subcontractors like SIEMENS, ABB, ALSTON, FAVINCA, OTEPI among other. In control and protection state of art I supported the engineering staff to meet the requirement of the final customer and validating the target of alarms, load dispatch center, signs, schedules and wiring diagrams.
As cost engineer within the company I provided clarification to several customers interested to invest and buy our products, which by the way are, electrical panelboards for medium and low voltage, vacuum circuit breakers, AC meters, DC meters, soft starters, solid starters, control and protection device among other products also imported from USA with famous brands like GE, ALLEN BRADLEY, ABB, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, SIEMENS, HONEYWELL among other.
This was my first job as electrical engineer. I developed myself as support for inspection of electrical installation in low voltage system, including installation of cables, panelboards, transformers, pipes, wiring, Mini circuit breakers, manholes, among other. My responsibilty in this company was to attend the daily work book and recording the advance of the subcontractor.
As electrical engineering student I learned about power system schedules, maintenance and design criteria. I dont have a speciality within my carreer but I also learned a lot about project engineering oriented to automation, instrumentation and panelboards. I would like to think that my university prepared me to face new challenges but its up to me to be updated, honest, pro active, objetive, and always based on a safety position and ensure reliability but not full of excuses.
