I have been involved in the following work. Part of the time I have been a lecturer teaching Cultural Psychology, and Teaching and Learning.
Then research in primary school level innovations: pre- and post-research designs. Have written two ESL courses for children in the junior primary (Grades 1-3). I have written two handbooks for first and second language reading and writing (Grade 103). I have been part of developing a curriculum for Grade 10-12 language curricula. I have developed a theoretical model for analysing the appropriacy of texts for young children (Grade 1-4 and 7-9). I have done extensive consulting on the teaching of general science, and more recently, technology, Grades 4-7.Also analysis of texts in these two fields. I am a skilled classroom observer, which I use in part, for evaluations.
Ten scholarships for the 11 years in which I studied. This included scholarships for studying in the United Kingdom (I did my first 3 degrees in South Africa). I received a medal from the Human Sciences Research Council for my contribution to English in Education. I received an award from the South African Association for language Teaching--for a meritorious award to language teaching South Africa. I have supervised 15 Masters and PhD students over a wide range of educational and psychological issues.
