Achievements:
• I have established and built a compliance platform from scratch by introducing a compliance company manual to bring greater consistency and organisation across the Groups various entities. This involved creating an anti-bribery and corruption portal and policy to safeguard the company’s sales operations. Recently, I introduced a company travel and hospitality portal to reduce costs and allow greater transparency over staff travel movements (and to safeguard against anti-bribery laws).
• I have led on the liquidation and formation of a variety of entities and recently taken the joint lead on the Group CSR policy.
• I helped broker an unorthodox export deal with the US Directorate of Defence Trade Controls.
• I am responsible for the Groups movement of controlled military equipment in line with the International Traffic in Arms \[ITAR\] Regulations and Export Control Act (see Additional Courses, page 2).

Legal Responsibilities:
• Wide experience reviewing contracts in areas such as aviation, security, construction, property and Maritime.
• Contract drafting under tight deadlines across a variety of business sectors (NDA’s, Teaming Agreements, Professional Service Agreements and Supplier Agreements etc.).
• Legal advice and support to entities across the organisations global footprint. This involves supporting the different business units such as Sales, IT and HR in particular.
• Consulting and liaising with external counsel when specialist advice is required.
• Carriage over all client due-diligence and requests for information.
• A wide variety of support to the Group General Counsel.

Compliance Responsibilities:
• Conducting periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. Where issues occur, I conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.
• Identify compliance issues and ‘red flags’ that require follow-up or investigation.
• Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management.
• Advise internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
• Provide employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures (anti money laundering, anti-bribery etc.).
• Review or modify policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to environmental standards or regulations.

• I managed all legal contract processes for a Joint Venture maritime security company. This involved managing a legal and compliance team across Dubai and the UK and reporting to the CEO. I worked closely with the sales and corporate teams to meet the contractual needs of a diverse client base. This usually involved producing thirty to forty contracts a month.
• Contract drafting involved Agency Agreements, Sales Agreements, Contractor Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Professional Service Agreements, NDA’s etc.
• I was responsible for assisting external counsel in the formation of the Joint Venture and played a leading role in establishing all compliance policies and procedures to meet the highest industry standards.
• I briefed clients on the legal and compliance responsibilities of Unity SPS and supported the sales teams in all tenders.
• I led on the opening of a liaison office in South Korea, to expand the company’s Sales in the region.

• I was involved in several high profile project financing deals and thrived under the pressure and client expectation of an international law firm.
• Responsible for Legal research advice for clients.
• Delivery of regulation and market briefs. An example of this would be carrying out research of the latest regulations (e.g. banking reforms), analyzing how this would affect our key clients and markets, and then delivering reports and presentations to the AMEA client base. Often this would involve an internal presentation to partners.
• Keeping account of the regions compliance matters and ensuring all necessary policies received regular updates in line with regulation changes.
• Internal Investigations of client's compliance processes to ensure they are in line with all regulations.
