I am doing the task related to BI in this company. I am responsible to run the daily and monthly process as well as support the applications. Currently, we have a project to upgrade the applications as well as the hardware and I am responsible on the testing part. Below is my job description:
i) To provide user support across geographical area for the defined set of applications
ii) To ensure the necessary software licenses are in place, and that these are used effectively.
iii) To collect feedback from users on the quality of the user support delivered and act upon the feedback to propose improvements to the user support provided; conduct regular surveys.
iv) To monitor the usage of the defined application portfolio and, wherever possible, propose changes to the portfolio to reduce the cost while ensuring the levels of service are maintained.
My role in this company mainly is to support warehouse applications. I am responsible for realization of retrofit projects, improve system availability and spare parts management and responding to customer concerns and complaints in an adequate manner.
In addition, I provide regular software maintenance on site, and assistance in project realization when necessary and develop enhancements, which include requirement specification, low level design, development, integration and training.
I also conduct training for different levels of customer staff (particularly users, operators and system managers) and internal staff for knowhow transfer in order to run the project run smoothly.
I am doing the database maintenance as well and monitor the performance for the database also which include the backup the database by writing some Unix script and create some cronb job. I am not only support the warehouse application which developed by Oracle
Forms and Oracle Reports, and I am doing the support for ASCII RF which developed using C language.
Currently, I am a Project lead for 2 Singapore projects they are Grocery Logistics of Singapore (GLS) and NTUC Fair Price. I need to assign the routine for my team who doing on standby support and monitor the project to run smoothly.
Lastly, I am doing a development project for the warehouse system for China bank by using Oracle Forms and Oracle Report which include the database creation as so on, create some unix script to do the backup, cronb job and so on.
My job function is to create a sub system by writing the PL/SQL such as compute the premium for the Insurance as well as the commission of the agents. In addition, I also developed all the company’s reports by using the Oracle Reports Builder applications as well as do to the support for the reporting system. I am writing a script for printing purpose by using the PrintSoft application like s. The script using to send the instructions to the printer and the printer will print out the statements and well as to staple of each agents’ statements. Lastly, I do the data analysis for some sensitive data.
