Places Victoria is a Government land development agency which has a fiber to the home network consisting of 4, 000 residents utilising Juniper GPON equipment. Contracted to Places Victoria working in their fiber to the home team.
Main Duties:
• Implement, support and optimise systems infrastructure
• Application development and troubleshooting (PHP)
• MySQL database backup, optimisation and modification
• Juniper GPON equipment sourcing, provisioning and upgrading and supporting
• Multiple vendor and supplier management
Main Achievements:
• Created Bash scripts to automatically backup MySQL databases offsite
• Implemented Check MK for virtual server monitoring and alerting to stakeholders
• Setup benchmark testing for actual customer experience utilising existing hardware
• Finished P2V of all physical servers
• Upgrade all VMware ESX hosts to VMware ESX version 6.0 and implemented VMware vCenter
• Created business case for new NAS hardware, implemented solution for backup and centralised storage
Data Centre Services (DCS) is a Government Business Division (GBD) of the Department of Corporate and Information Services (DCIS) for the Northern Territory Government (NTG). It is a provider of Shared Service to all NTG Agencies and Statutory bodies amounting to 22, 000 staff across the Territory.
Main Duties:
• Evaluated technologies and wrote up design documentation
• Worked in a project delivery space implementing solutions based on design documents
Achievements:
• Promoted from operations team to design and transition team after one year of tenure.
• Engagement of a specialised IT security vendor to complete an external, desktop, wireless penetration test audit. Took ownership of outstanding issues to mitigate against potential future attack.
• Documentation review and presented options to consolidate documentation to a new platform.
Contracted to Virgin Australia to support the Microsoft file cluster environment.
Main Duties:
• Provided support for five two node geographically dispersed file clusters
• Provided on call after hours response on a rotated basis two off, one week on
• Level 3 infrastructure BAU support
Main Achievements:
• Completed Microsoft Server 2003 to Microsoft Server 2008 file cluster migration project.
• Implemented Microsoft FSRM for file classification, quota, screening and reporting
• Implemented and fine tune Microsoft SCOM
• Moved all file clustered data to a new Hitachi VSP storage array (~15TB)

Contracted to subsidiary Zero One, a provider of cloud computing and web development services to New Zealand businesses. Provided consultancy services to maintain develop the cloud computing platform.

I was contracted to work on their biggest client, Air New Zealand. I provided 3rd line support to over 500 servers and 7, 000+ workstations.
