Labor and Delivery Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities
•Monitors patient throughout labor.
•Monitors contractions and helps patient with breathing techniques.
•Administer pain medications as ordered.
•Takes and records patient’s vital signs.
•Reads fetal monitor and ascertain if there is a problem with baby’s heart rate.
•Ensures patient’s bed is kept dry and clean; cleans up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process
•Contacts anaesthesiologist when patient is ready for epidural; contacts delivering physician at appropriate time
•Cares for patient on Pitocin and Epidural
•Ensures patient is in proper position for delivery and all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
•Aids doctor with drapes, gloves and gown; hands doctor delivery equipment as needed during birthing process
•Encourages patient to push at proper times.
•Records time of birth.
•Keeps any family informed of progression of birth
•Act as circulator during caesarean section
•Completes required orientation as directed by the hospital
•Follows safety rules and procedures

Medical/Surgical/Maternity Ward
Duties and Responsibilities
•Assess the needs of patients and make appropriate interventions.
•Assess the needs of the patients in the ward and make nursing care plan for all patients
•Give direct patient care like bed making, changing of bed sheets, mouth care, back care, bed bathing, hair wash, changing of position etc.
•Assist the physician and healthcare practitioners with examinations, treatment and other procedures.
•Administer prescribed medicines.
•Administer nursing care in accordance with individual care plan.
•Monitoring of Vital Signs and other important nursing care.
•Transcribing Doctors order and making the proper charting.
•Provide comfort to the patient and maintain safety of the patient.
•Take over the charge from duty nurse of previous shift, regarding patients (bed to bed), instrument supplies, drugs etc. and handed over the same to the next shift.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Works as head nurse, supervising five more colleagues and ensuring the smooth running of all clinics.
• Assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care.
• Carrying out clinical nursing procedures by getting their medical histories and monitoring vital signs.
• Record patient symptoms before the doctor arrives to streamline the process of patient care.
• Responsible in operating testing equipment, assist with treatments and administer intravenous fluids.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Qatar Prometric Passer with Professional License issued by Supreme Council of Health - Qatar.
•Certified Immediate Life Support Provider.
•Sound knowledge of medical equipment and products
•Proven ability to build positive relationships with patients, family members, physicians and other medical professionals.
•Active member of Scientific Planning Committee and Accreditation Team in DCH.
•Wide knowledge of health care organizations.
•Excellent Computer skills
•Good oral and written communication skill.
•Can work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
•Enthusiastic, quick to learn with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
