• Provide or arrange training and education to Austal Philippines employees, and subcontractor resources (as required), in health and safety topics
• Monitor health, safety and environmental protection compliance at the project level by conducting workplace inspections and audits
• Provide advice on interpretation of local government requirements and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations and codes
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to promote safety and resolve any issues of non-compliance
• Participate in the development of project-specific safety programs for new projects
• Ensure all HS&E documentation and records are collected and maintained in accordance with company operating practices, across both the self-perform and subcontractor operations
• Review company’s/subcontractor’s occupational safety policies, guidelines and standards to determine their consistency with accepted principles and practices and recommend technical changes as needed
• Assist line management and the safety committee in the investigation of accidents and near-misses, including: identifying root causes and trends as well as recommending accident prevention methods
• Provide direction on matters relating to injured worker claims and restricted work programs
• Act as an active leader in promoting HS&E processes and programs towards exceeding HS&E goals
• Preparing EHS Plan for the project as per contact requirements
• Ensure compliances with statutory provisions and required documents.
• Continuously and maintain safety awareness program
• Facilitate and attend external and internal audits.
• Inspect and monitor environment, machineries and processes to ensure safety as per government rules and regulations and industry standards.
• Assist companies to comply with safety laws in systematic and organized approach.

• Assist all severely injured employees to the nearest hospital.

• Secure and ensure that the sick employees submit "fit to work" certificate.

* Act as physician's assistant in every medical procedures needed by the client.
* Collect urine specimen for drug testing.
* Facilitate and collect client's sputum for sputum culture.

* Responsible for urine straining upon urinalysis.
* Generate and release client's laboratory results.
* Responsible for referring some problematical x-ray results to other radiologists.
