DGDA - Wadi Safar: Retail | Mosques | Clinic Project, Riyadh KSA
Craig is the technical lead overseeing the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering services on the Retail Mosques and Clinics community facilities project, which is spread across three assets within Wadi Safar masterplan, a development on the outskirts of Riyadh which is centred around a Greg Norman golf course.
Mubadala Workplace Transformation Project, Abu Dhabi UAE
A LEED and WELL Platinum workplace transformation project for Mubadala’s Corporate headquarters in Abu Dhabi which sets out to address Mubadala’s workforce needs and provide a uniform offering to all employees and cater for Mubadala’s future growth. Craig was the technical lead on the project overseeing the technical delivery of design and engineering services on the project, which included building a strategy and roadmap for the technical delivery of the project.
DGDA - Bujairi & Samhan Districts (PMC Services), Riyadh KSA
Craig was the technical lead and part of Arcadis’s PMC Core Team across multiple projects within the Bujairi and Samhan districts of DGDA’s masterplan. Craig’s design management work on the various projects has included chairing design and management meetings with the various Consultants and Client stakeholders; leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary design reviews; and preparing RFPs for the various projects within the precinct. Projects within the precinct include:
• Bujairi and Samhan Multistorey Carparks; with residential, offices and retail above ground
• Bujairi Food & Beverage development overlooking the UNESCO work heritage site At-Turaif
• Bujairi Boutique Hotel, a 5-star 80-key hotel
• Ad Diriyah Art Oasis
• Diriyah Gate Experience Centre
• Samhan Residential development
• Public Realm and Infrastructure to support the above developments
DGDA - Samhan Heritage Hotel Peer Review, Riyadh KSA
Craig recently completed a peer review of the Detailed Design proposals for Samhan Heritage Hotel. Craig led a multi-disciplinary peer review team on the hotel project which included verifying the detailed design proposals against Code requirements; Operator and Licencing requirements; and verifying the design proposal against Heritage and master-planning requirements; and providing a gap analysis. The review also included verifying that operations and maintenance requirements were adequately addressed within the design proposal.
AMAALA, KSA
Craig recently completed a secondment to AMAALA as a Senior Design Manager, a PIF company established to develop hospitality, medical wellness, arts, sporting, and cultural attractions on the Red Sea that targets Ultra High Net Worth individuals.
Craig led the development of AMAALA’s Design Management policy and procedures; assisting in developing and streamlining the consultant procurement process; and developing the business’s Design Award Strategy for new projects.
Craig’s responsibilities also included providing technical guidance and leadership to the Planning & Programme Management and Vendor Management across various projects within the AMAALA masterplans, including identifying scope gaps and key project challenges.
Ibis Styles Hotel, Jebal Ali, UAE (aed90m)
Craig worked on a 190-Key, 4 Star Hotel in Jebal Ali, Dubai. Craig led the development of the Concept Design into Detailed Design proposal based on Client and Operator’s inputs and in close liaisons with the local authorities. Craig led the overall technical delivery of the project. Craig worked closely alongside the BIM manager to ensure the project was successfully delivered in Revit A360 and to the office’s BIM standards.
My City Centre Masdar, Abu Dhabi (approx. aed200m)
A 3 Pearl Rated Community Mall with a GFA of approximately 40, 000m² in Masdar, Abu Dhabi for MAF Properties. Craig was the technical lead on the project overseeing the work produced by the internal multidisciplinary design team and specialist sub-consultants. Craig was responsible for the overall project delivery of the project from Concept Design through to and including on-site works. Craig maintained a close working relationship with Client. Work on the project also included overseeing the production of Authority submissions and in close liaison with ADM and other authorities in order to secure a Building Permit for the project.
Yas Village Staff Accommodation, Abu Dhabi (approx. aed660m)
A 3 Pearl Rated Staff Accommodation project for Miral Asset Management, with a GFA of 110, 000m2 on Yas Island. Craig was the technical lead on the project responsible for the overall delivery of the project from Concept Design through to Contract award, which included overseeing all Authority submissions on the project. In addition, Craig worked alongside the BIM Manager and QA Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the projects Quality Plan, and successfully delivery the project in BIM with “clash free” models developed to LOD300 as per the project’s BIM Execution Plan.
Anantara Mina Al Arab, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE (approx. AED 610m)
A 5-Star, 306 key eco-sanctuary waterfront resort hotel based in Ras al Khaimah. Craig worked as Senior Design Manager on the project in a role that predominantly consisted of overseeing the technical delivery and coordination on the project which included leading technical reviews of the multidisciplinary consultant’s work on the project.
City Walk Residential Developments’, Dubai (approx. aed3.6bn)
A large mixed-use development spread over 4 phases consisting of 42 six-storey residential buildings and the surrounding Public Realm design for Meraas Holdings. Work consisted of assisting with the Project Management of the large internal multidisciplinary design team and external sub-consultants. Overseeing the delivery of the architecture components of the project, chairing meetings both internally and externally, and liaising with the Client on a regular basis in order to make sure the project met with the Client’s expectations and responded to the Project Brief and overseeing the Liaison Architectural team and delivery of Authority approvals.
Al Falah Mall, Abu Dhabi (aed285m)
A large 2 Pearl Rated Community Mall with a GFA of 50, 000m2 in Al Falah Town Centre, Abu Dhabi for Aldar Properties. Worked as Project Manager and the lead Architect overseeing the work produced by the internal multidisciplinary design team and specialist sub-consultants. Responsible for the overall project delivery, and in particular the architectural components of the design and making sure the project was “designed to budget”. Work also included managing the financial expenditure on the project and maintaining a close working relationship with Client. Work also included overseeing the production of authority submissions and other local authorities in order to secure the Building Permit for the project.
Oasis Mall, Sharjah (approx. aed180m)
A large retail mall for the Landmark Group. Worked as Project Manager and lead Architect overseeing the delivery of architectural, MEP and structural design components on the project. Work also included chairing meetings both internally and externally, making sure the project met the Client's aspirations, and managing the financial expenditure on the project.
Tameer Towers, Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Plaza, Astana, Kazakhstan -Project Leader (approx. US$1.2bn)
A high-quality mixed-use development spread over 2 phases totalling 500, 000sqm. The overall development comprised of an iconic mixed-use tower of 75 stories, two 28 storey Class A+ LEED Silver rated office towers, a 4-Star 160 key hotel, a residential tower, a four-storey basement car park, and two storey podium providing a retail mall with a link connecting the development to a dedicated station on the new high-speed monorail system.
Work included leading the design team on the main 310m iconic mixed-use tower comprising of office and residential accommodation. Work on the latter phase of the project included overseeing the design of one of the offices towers and the residential tower within the development.
Zayed University, Abu Dhabi - Project Leader (AED3.6b)
Responsible for leading the design team delivering Detailed Design, Tender and Construction documents for the Convention Centre and main Administration Faculty buildings, which together form the main focal and entry points to the campus. Responsibilities also included working alongside the Contractor overseeing the execution of on-site works.
The Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi - Design Manager (AED1.2b)
A fast track Design and Build project. Responsible for the delivery and coordination of various interior design and fit-out packages, chairing design meetings with the various consultants, and reporting design progress to the JV Board. Also responsible for overseeing on-site works for the fit-out of the main dining hall and kitchen areas which included managing specialist consultants.
Baker Street Station - Step Free Access & Modernisation Works
Responsible for leading a team of architects on Modernisation and Upgrade works at Baker Street Station. Worked closely with the Client London Underground (LUL) and stakeholders developing detailed design proposals; and working closely with the Construction Management team in order to develop appropriate design solutions.
St Pancras International Station, London (£750m)
Managed part of a large team in the construction phase of one of London’s most significant railway projects. The role included developing the Works Information, coordinating MEP design with fit-out, managing the coordination of several cladding packages to the external envelope and internal public areas, checking Subcontractor’s design and developing technically complicated design solutions in accordance with the Works Information.
Knightsbridge Station, London
Assisted the Team Leader on a Congestion Relief project at Knightsbridge Station for London Underground Ltd. Work included coordinating on-site works and the production of supplementary construction documents.
Responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of design, visualisations and technical
input on a wide spectrum of projects which included liaising with external consultants and overseeing on site works.
Cutty Sark Station, London (£15m)
A large mixed-use development within a conservation area and above a new DLR Station.
Greenwich Reach West, London (£18m)
A large luxury residential housing scheme for Fairview Homes on the River Thames.
