Position Held: Maintenance Manager (Pacific lock)
Upon completion of the construction, installation, commissioning and receipt of the
taking over certificate, the contract had a requirement for the contractor to maintain
the set of locks for three years.
Main functions:
· Lead and monitor the electromechanical team that carries out maintenance of
permanent works, ensuring that these activities are undertaken in a safe,
economic and efficient manner in accordance with contract specification.
· Review and Monitor the execution of a maintenance master plan that ensures
99.6 % of Lane availability of the locks.
· Ensure the availability o the adequate resources in the electromechanical
works, including staff, plant, materials and equipment.
· Representative of GUPC at meetings with ACP regarding maintenance
management issues.

Coordinated planning and execution of all activities of the refurbishment project
with the contractor - Alstom France
· Provided leadership in managing all technical aspects - revision of technical
proposals, planning and programming and minimization of technical challenges,
installation supervision and project control and quality assurance/quality
control.
· Coordinated technical aspects for revision and approval of installation manuals
and recording protocols.
· Attended inspections of components at overseas factories of Alstom France
during fabrication and issued release to ship approvals.
· Resolved all technical problems during contract execution in coordination with
Alstom France.
· Coordinated with the engineering department for review and approval of all
technical documentation presented by the contractor.
· Coordinated with the power plant operating department to obtain all permits to
execute contract jobs.

commissioning engineers and facility managers on site. Reviewed and
commented on all mechanical testing and commissioning statements.
Macagua I, upgrade 360 MW Hydraulic Power Plant to 482 MW. Six
Francis Turbines from 60 MW to 82 MW, including new generators, new
auxiliary equipment, new main and auxiliary bridge crane, new gantry crane,
overhaul of the intake gates, trash racks, outlet gates, penstock, new
substation and transmission lines.
Position Held: Mechanical Installation and Inspection Coordinator.
Main functions:
· Coordinated all mechanical inspections with the contractor - IMPSA ensuring
adherence to all contract scope, specifications and quality standards.
· Coordinated with the engineering department for review and approval of all
technical documentation presented by the contractor.
· Coordinated with the power plant operating department to obtain all permits to

Generators (General Electric) of 220 MVA, 7 transformers (Va Tech Elin) of 220

auxiliary equipment
Led the design, planning, construction and installation of a fabrication shop for
light structures and piping for the construction of a briquette plant on behalf of
The Orinoco Iron Company.
