Danya Rushdi

I work as a multi-disciplinary Biomedical Scientist, across Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
This entails working efficiently and effectively, both on an individual basis and as part of a team, during routine and out of hours.
I process a range of patient samples on the automated equipment, and then analyse results both technically and clinically. I perform routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment, internal and external Quality Control, and audits.
I have experience with the following automated equipment: Siemens Atellica, Advia 2400, Advia 2120i, Dimension EXL, Dimension 1500, Centaur XP, RapidPoint, Werfen ACL TOP, BioRad IH500.
I have a role as a mentor and in helping to train more junior members of staff and trainees.

Here, I began my role as a Biomedical Scientist within the Clinical Biochemistry department, completing my Specialist Diploma. I worked in the core laboratory, performing routine analysis of specimens on the automated equipment. followed by technical and clinical validation of results. I carried out all maintenance and troubleshooting of the analysers.
I also worked in the specialist chemistry section of the laboratory, performing specialist analysis of specimens in toxicology (Drugs of Abuse and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring), protein metabolism, and point of care testing.
I had a role in mentoring and helping to train more junior members of staff and trainees.
