Managing the daily activities of the preservation department of installed and stored equipment (Pumps, motors, fans, piping, forgings. structural steel and ducting’s) Setting up schedules for preservation, compiling of equipment lists, reviewing / compiling of reports and data books. Assisting in writing procedures and development of systems that ensure components are maintained according to OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Submitting monthly reports to system project managers. Liaising with sub-contractors and clients. Managing a team of one document controller, three QC inspectors and three semi-skilled mechanical fitters. Ensuring sub-contractors comply with preservation requirements. Have weekly meetings with the client/sub-contractors. Doing a daily safety toolbox talk. Keeping an updated date safety file.

Signing of time sheets, looking after the safety of all my workers, issuing job cards, checking quality of workmanship, handing over of shifts. Rolling, bending, assembling, welding and profile grinding of ball mills, bearing bases, kilns, crushers and re-claimers. Which is components made for the mining industry.Check that all the equipment and resources are being used efficiently and utilized correctly to raise the productivity. Setting up of smart goals. Looking after +- 10 Boilermakers, +-20 welders, 20 profile grinders and 3 operators for the bending and rolling section.

Fabricating the walls for Medupi and Kusile powerstation and all the functions involved with supervising and managing the progress, staff and to complete the job on time at the right quality and safely. Writing of procedures and work instructions. Looking for ways to continuously save cost on the project. Managing 3 welding charge hands, 3 boilermaker charge hands which in turn looked after +-10 welders, boilermakers and semi-skilled workers each.

Do shutdowns on various plants. Supervising and managing of workforce during outages. Ensuring work is done according to scope and program. Do all necessary paper work and safety talks. Make sure all work done is of high quality and according to relevant standards and drawings. Check that materials used is correct and according to drawings. Make sure necessary permits are in place and issued and safety checks has been done.
