1) Managerial tasks: Team Leader for Staff Nurses II and Patient - Care Assistants, Managing 17 specialty clinics
➢ Assign nurses in plan board,
➢ Request and check completeness of supplies,
➢ Process forms for patient: assessment, prioritization and documentation,
➢ Liaison between doctors, nurses, and patients,
➢ Liaison between other group members and Charge Nurse,
➢ Keep department orderliness,
➢ Check Staff Nurses 2 and patient-care assistants on strict adherence to policies and procedures.
➢ Nurse Manager when Charge Nurse is on leave or on demand, experiences in making rotas, time summaries, staff allocations and other office jobs.
2) Treatment Room skills:
➢ Vital signs and assessment,
➢ Operate and assure completeness of crash trolley for emergency,
➢ Basic cardiac life support and assist to cardiac call,
➢ Suctioning,
➢ Wound care and sterile procedures,
➢ Injections, venipuncture, cannulation, intravenous Aclasta infusions, Synacthen testing, insulin tolerance Testing, Xolair management following protocols
➢ Stool, urine, and glucose testing.
3) Nurse Teacher:
➢ Precept nurses and students for policies and procedures,
➢ Remind doctors of proper use of documents and computers,
➢ Provide lectures for departmental competencies.
4) Safety Nurse:
➢ Safe keep keys, properties and medications,
➢ Assure vigilance to prevent health hazards,
➢ Collaborate with other departments like maintenance, personnel security, pharmacy and supplies.
5) Proper channeling:
➢ Report directly to Charge Nurse.
6) Translator: English and basic Arabic.
7) Others: “On-call” Nurse for major disaster.
