Played an instrumental role in setting up a litigation team, from standing start. Drafted
terms of business and client engagement letter. Worked closely with the CEO and
marketing manager to create a strategic business plan, incorporating targeted
milestones and projected costs etc.
• Acted for the defendant in trademark injunction proceedings issued in the Patents
County Court in London. Worked alongside counsel to draft a defence and fend off a
larger opponent.
• Advised a UK business with registered trademark in UAE for a health product on
potential infringement by a UAE based competitor, which had registered a similar
product with the Ministry of Health.
• Advised a food retailer on the legal and commercial risks of continuing with a trademark
application in the context of opposition filed by a global Australian brand.
Acted for the MD of a Swiss private bank in applying to remove his name from a DIFC
Court of First Instance Judgment. Personally brought in the work and achieved a
successful outcome, handling all stages from drafting the application and extensive
witness statement to advocacy at the hearing.
• Published an article in the Asia/MENA In-House Community magazine on the DIFC
Courts and external arbitral awards:
Led a team in producing a new client brochure for the firm, drafted relevant text and
managed budget.
Managed a large-scale disclosure exercise for a trademark infringement case brought
by Easygroup against Easyart, an independent art retailer.
Carried out due diligence in relation to sale and purchase of an independent London
based travel company by a global corporation.
Organised paperwork for major trial including multiple sets of bundles, for a
commercial fraud case in the High Court.

law on repudiatory breach of contract.
• Established and headed up the DIFC team at Al Suwaidi & Company. Subsequently
won the DIFC Courts’ award for pro bono law firm of the year 2015.
• Has achieved favourable settlements in majority of cases using a pragmatic,
measured style.
• Published numerous articles, delivered internal training sessions and client
oriented seminars.
