Consultant role involved supporting the Head of Parks & Recreational Facilities Department with strategic planning, design review and sustainability program for the Municipal Parks portfolio. Assigned to a number of projects and technical committees, including the prestigious Khalifa Park project:

- Supporting the commercial activation strategies
- Managing design consultants for new developments
- Stakeholder management and engagement
- Implementing waste reduction & recycling activities
- Environmental Operations Manager role responsible for developing and implementing an environmental management system across Nakheel’s operational portfolio of high-end luxury communities, such as the Palm Jumeirah.
- Responsible for sustainability review of upcoming Nakheel projects under development,
- Developed Waste Management Guidelines for Developers issued across all Nakheel projects
- Prepared sustainability related technical scope of work for Contractors and Service Providers
- Supported the Nakheel Sustainability Department to implement the company wide Strategic Sustainability Framework.
- Organised for NAM staff and service providers to support many community initiatives.
- Organised promotion and awareness of waste and recycling issues across Nakheel communities.
- Developed and implemented systems and procedures to track and analyse consumption of water and electricity, as well as ‘dashboard reporting’ analysis to identify buildings and assets with excessive levels of energy or water consumption.
Senior Environmental Consultant role that also involved significant business development. It involved the setting up of a full Environmental Function to cater for rapid growth in infrastructure and property development in Dubai. In addition, I formed a working group within Hyder that became known as the Sustainable Design Group. The group pulled together the specialist inputs from across the multi-disciplinary teams within Hyder (MEP, Structures, Geotechnical, Facades, Transport, Infrastructure, etc.) in order to focus their efforts on the sustainable design of buildings. During this short period, David succeeded in winning and executing the following projects:
- Preliminary LEED Review - Dubai Towers (Jeddah & Doha):
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Siji Explosives Factory
- The Palisades, Dubai Investments Park (100 ha, 50, 000 Population, Capital Cost - 1.5 Billion AED)
- Falcon City of Wonders, Dubailand: Project Manager responsible for preparing the EIA Scoping Report and for the EIA of Falcon City of Wonders(381 ha, 55, 000 Population, Capital Cost - 3 Billion AED).
- Environmental Assessment at ORICA Explosives Manufacturing Site, Jebel Ali
