• Site Security: Supervise safety and security activities in Lashkarghan & Musa Qala, Helmand Province.
• Conducts routine security surveys of offices and residential areas and premises,
• Implements security plans, emergency response, physical security, management and verifies adherence to policies, guidelines and general orders.
• Collaborates with appropriate management in investigating problems arising in the protection and security within lashkarghan & Musa Qala site.
• Detects failures by monitoring the implemented security plans and proposes corrections.
• Risk Management: Conducts periodic risk analysis and propose preventive measures regarding to the level of crime, terrorism, violence in the workplace, threats of natural disasters and man-made hazards.
• Conduct counter surveillance operations on local work force; identify and mitigate possible intelligence threats.
• Crisis management: Supports by developing and implementing crisis preparedness capacity, including developing processes and providing training.
• Conduct investigations and prepare reports on minor cases of theft, illegal entry, assault, Vehicle accidents or other incidents.
• Staff development: Identifies training needs and appropriate safety & security training relevant materials and schedules and implements fire safety, first aid, and radio communications training for security members.
• Supports and mentors Security Drivers, Linguists & Security Coordinators and Guards ensuring solid Capacity building
• Plan and supervise Arrival, Operational Readiness, Repatriation and other periodic inspections of assigned formed military and police units to verify by physical inspection that the TCC/PCC and the United Nations are in compliance with their agreed responsibilities as detailed in MOU.
Field Security Officer
• Security Planning: Developed security strategies, structures, and procedures to enhance the safety and security of TGL staff, assets, offices and residential compounds.
• Risk Management: Conducts and submits Security Risk Assessments of programs.
• Evaluates safety and security requirements, both current and projected, and develop personnel and organizational strategy options in support of TGL work in Somalia.
• Compliance: Recommends and complies with the UN System-wide Security Risk Management Measures (SRM/SRMM) and the Residential Security Measures (RSM) in
Mogadishu and Hargeisa.
• Operations planning: journey management, security & incident response
• Situation monitoring (security, political)security alerts & information dissemination., SOPs development & implementation
• Site Security Surveys of every site visited and Trip Reports of all high-risk field deployments.
• Training: Training Basic Fire fighter training and use of fire extinguisher. Basic first aid and first trauma responder training.
• Convoy operation training, including rapid extrication. Security awareness training including, how to react in case of explosion, attack, and natural hazard.
