Work out FPSO Marine Instrument system concepts, schedule of deliverables and plan activities in line with
overall project schedule, delegates the tasks to instrument team members assigned to the project and
monitors the progress.
• Prepare Equipment Layout in compliance with requirements of contract, classifications and regulations and
coordinate with various disciplines for material handling, constructability and installations, operations and
maintenance, and safety etc.
• Prepare Instrument project documents, such as design philosophies, ICSS topology, I/O list, Instrument list,
cause & effect matrix, control narratives, intrinsically safe instruments, room layout and deck arrangement,
cable schedules and etc.
• Prepare procurement engineering documents, such as technical specifications, instrument data sheets,
technical bid evaluation etc.
• Review and comment vendor documents.
• Provides inputs for conversion and repair specification
• Participates in technical meetings, progress reviews, 3D Model reviews, addresses issues related to
instrument engineering design, interface.
• Participate in safety studies, such as Hazid, Hazop, study and etc.
• Address comments from client, classification and other third parties working on the project.
• Communicate with vendors and other disciplines to ensure that changes are timely captured and
implemented in instrument design and 3D Model
• Lead project for instrumentation and control detailed engineering design works.
• Preparation of Datasheet for Gauges, Transmitters, Valves, and other components.
• Draft of Drawings for Drafter (Cable Block Diagram, JB Wiring Diagram, Instrument Location Layout, Instrument Cable Routing, Instrument Hook UP drawing).
• Perform Technical Clarification (TC) and Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for Vendors.
• Check and incorporate comments from clients on the deliverable's items as per Documents Procedure.
• Check and comment on vendor documents based on VDML submitted.
• Guide, train and coordinate works within the section to ensure timely delivery of specific engineering documentation is maintained according to project requirements
• Lead project for instrumentation and control detailed engineering design works.
• Perform design review and design interfaces.
• Provide technical supervision for integrity engineering discipline, designating work and quality standards
where applicable.
• Prepare / check instrument technical specifications, data sheets and requisitions for inquiry / purchase order.
• Implement the technical bid evaluation (TBE) reports for vendor's proposal.
• Review and comment vendor drawings / documents.
• Prepare technical proposal, scope of work, technically correct RFO, MTO, BQ, etc.
• Guide, train and coordinate works within the section to ensure timely delivery of specific engineering
documentation is maintained according to project requirements.
• Focal Point in FEED projects and Detailed Engineering projects in co-ordination with other disciplines such
as EPC contractors and Vendors.
• Prepare the Field Instrument & Control specifications, Control Philosophies, Control System Interface
Documents, Field Instrument datasheets, Material Requisitions & MTOs, Cable length estimation, schedules,
IO list etc.
• Review Control System (DCS, ESD and FGS) systems and modifications in existing Control systems with
vendor assistance.
• Prepare the technical bid evaluations & clarifications of vendors for Instrument & Control related materials.
• Prepare Block & Functional Schematic Diagrams, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Instrument sizing, Instrument
location plan, cable routing layout, Installation details & Pneumatic Hook up drawings.
• Working on new Proposals, preparing a technical cost estimate (CTR's), generating and coordinating
technical queries to EPC related proposals.
• Lead, plan and execute DCS Commissioning task prior to the Start Up of the plant in timely manner.
• Support Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning on Solo Run and Heat Run of Motors and Pumps.
• Analyze Process Parameters recorded during Internal and Client Witness Test and maintain the data on Long
Term Data Server (LTDS).
• Modify Logics and Graphical Tools as per actual running condition if any discrepancy found from the
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and report to the Designer team in HQ.
• Update DCS controller with latest firmware as per availability on timely manner.
• Perform Communication and Remedial Action Scheme (RAS) test between DCS panels and Auxiliaries
system interconnecting the DCS and the SCADA system of the plant.
• Perform all duties assigned in a safe and professional manner, be guided in all work by the precept that safety
of the personal and equipment is a top corporate priority
• Reviews the project technical documentation and the contractual requirements.
• Responsible for delivering instrument engineering design work efficiently and in a timely manner during
proposal and project delivery stage.
• Attend to technical query by operation personnel and provide advice/solution according to best engineering
practice to address issues which affect the operation based on the codes and standards in the oil and gas
industry i.e API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.
• Support and coordinate with various disciplines and package engineers regarding E&I issues.
• Preparation of instrument datasheet, instrument list, I/O list, instrument sizing for flow element and valves,
loop drawings, interlock logic diagram, cable schedule, cable connection list, junction box schedule, etc.
• Preparation of typical installation drawing, instrumentation hook- up drawings.
• Preparation of construction drawings such as instrument plot plan, wiring layout, etc
• Preparation of Material Take-off for installations.
• Update drawings and software as Redline Mark-up when changes are made.
• Carry out Cause and Effect test on Modbus Communication and Safety Functional test.
• Check client drawings and client specifications & raise STQ if any discrepancies found.
• Check of Material Take Off (MTO) and Purchase Requisition (PR) as per project specification or
requirement.
• Perform Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) as per PR requested and specification or requirement.
• Familiarize with global technical specification, codes and standard such as ANSI, ASME, API, ASTM,
AISC, AWS and customer specification such as PTS, GS, SES, DEP and others.
• Mark up on Process and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) and System segregation for overall Commissioning.
• Erection and Installation of Field Process Instruments and Control Panels and Process Automation System.
• Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of Instruments. Preparation of ITR, FTR and Punchlist
Registrations.
• Loop checking - Conduct the hot and cold loop checks of Fire & Gas System and Process Instruments.
• Functional check, Cause & Effect Check, Logic test of Fire & Gas System and Process Instruments.
• Provide technical, hands-on support for the DCS /PLC/ F&G/ ESD /Device Testing execution during
commissioning and start-up over-site.
• Carry out with killing of punch list, Commissioning, Start-up and Maintenance activities.
• Maintain and provide support for modifications to process graphic displays.
• Fault diagnose with the cause and effective drawings.
