Lead the development & execution of the global sourcing strategies for High &Medium Voltage Motors in Asia Primarily for Electrical Steel & Lamination, Electrical Insulation, Copper Coil, Machining & Fabrication, and Commodities. This includes Benchmarking & Teardown Analysis, Should Costing of Stator & Rotor Core, Copper Windings, Heat Exchanger Enclosures (Fabrication), Die casted Rotor, Machining etc, supplier selection, development, Pricing Negotiation and supplier consolidation to ensure sourcing optimization and overall supplier performance. Lead Localization & Early Supplier Involvement for new product development -NPD (High & Medium Voltage Motor) Projects with R&D, Implemented extensive early supplier involvement strategy involving more than 40 suppliers located in Asia to optimize designs for lowest costs resulting in purchased component cost reductions of 20-25 %.Coordinate with Testing, Manufacturing, R&D for New supplier Development (First Article Inspection, VDA, pre assessment etc). Lead GVS Initiative for Siemens Germany in Commodities such as E-Steel Laminations, Heat Exchangers, Copper Windings etc.
Lead a Team of Senior Engineers, Staff Engineers to Evaluate and determine best cost and value position for purchased parts by Cost and Value Engineering levers and methods, Should costing for Casting, Forging, Machining & Sheet Metal Components, Calculate cost base lining and regular cost updates for components according to maturity of design. Evaluate cost impact of alternative technical options (materials, manufacture methods) during the product development process. Advice engineering concerning the most cost effective solution based on standardized design processes and production methods Responsible, Performed detailed cost analysis (CAO Analysis, MLPP),
Lead a team senior engineers and Manage holistic Air/Hydrogen/Water Turbo Generator Design development from evaluation and definition of requirements, Project Management (Project Initiation, Planning, Controlling & Monitoring) .Component Design (Stator, Rotor, Windings, Frame, DE & NDE, Collector & exciter assemblies, ), FEA Analysis, Rotor dynamics, Design calculation, DFMEA, DFM, testing and cooperation with manufacturing, Field Service & Procurement by ensuring cost and operational efficiency and alignment with business objectives. Manage global Product Design reviews, VAVE & Product change Management. Coordinate with global engineering teams for Manufacturing & Field issues. Work with manufacturing and suppliers to achieve producible, quality designs at the lowest possible cost. Review CAPA & DFMEA reports prepared for new products. Taking cost saving measures & modifications to achieve substantial reduction in cost of materials and operations. Attended project / power plant Customer review meetings in USA, China and Germany& locations across the globe (Russia, South-east Asia, Asia Pacific, and Middle east.).
Provided technical leadership for design and development, VAVE of OFF Highway Vehicles (Wheel Loaders, Backhoes) & Agricultural Equipment (Combine Harvester) for the automotive industry. Enabling substantial cost reduction through design changes. Focused on Root cause analysis, defect measurement & controlling.
