• Ensured the elimination or minimization of human injury and property and productivity losses, caused by harmful contact incidents, through the design of effective management policies, programs, or practices.
• Review, implement, enforce and continuously improve all HSE rules, regulations, procedures & programs to ensure compliance with Company Policy.
• Maintenance of safety contingency, perform assessment, periodic Safety audits, accident/incident investigation and recommend corrective & preventive measures.
• Set up of documented safety procedures and precautions covering all aspects of the Company's activities and system to disseminate these to all members of staff.
• Ensured that the procedures are fully up to date by a continuous review of new and revised legislation.
• Performed risk assessments of each area of company activity and making recommendation on actions to be taken to reduce risks.
• Ensured that procedures are being adhered to by carrying out audits, spot checks and reviews. Promote awareness and raise the standard of HSE through training to achieve the best practices.
• Responsible for the safe operating condition of the General Housekeeping/ welfare facilities, firefighting equipment, safety equipment etc.
• Liaison with Government officials, External Safety Inspection officers on Safety, Health & Environment matters.
• Administer HSE orientation, Toolbox, induction programs for new & existing employees.
• Lead the investigation of any accidents or incidents leading to accident and making recommendations on modified procedures to avoid recurrences.
• Advised project supervisor(s) and manager(s) on the implementation of safety procedures.
• Ensured that all necessary statutory and other records are maintained.
• Developed within the establishment an atmosphere of "safety consciousness" by example, by discussion, by advice and training.
• Creating awareness of the hazards associated with the use of radioactive materials, carcinogens (cancer inducers), toxic chemicals and other aspects of occupational health hazards and dissemination of this information.
