Review of Traffic Management Plans / Drawings for traffic diversions and the submission of TDP documentation for final approval.

Participating in detour coordination meetings with the contractor to coordinate the design/ implementation/ opening of detours and preparing accurate minutes of meeting.

Utilising accident /collision analysis and prevention techniques gained from 10-day RoSPA Road Safety Engineering Course (TMS, United Kingdom).

Strong knowledge of road safety and traffic management specifications: Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) 2014, Qatar Work Zone Traffic Management Guide (QWZTMG) 1.2, Qatar Traffic Control Manual (QTCM), and Road Safety Audit Guide. Qatar Highway Design Manual (QHDM) as it pertains to Road Safety Design.

Supervision of multiple Traffic Diversion Openings, inclusive of: tunnel opening, offside and nearside multi-lane closures, contraflows, new temporary detour carriageways, temporary signalized junctions.

Writing correspondence and emails to the contractor/ stakeholders regarding road safety hazards / close-out.

Flood Mitigation Preparedness of existing and detour carriageways: review mitigation plans and supervision of execution of plans in the event of rainy weather.

Investigating public complaints regarding traffic management devices and preparing report / emails for address same.

Quality Inspections (RFITs) of the installation of traffic signal equipment including: pole foundations, ducting, loop detectors, traffic signal poles and gantries, traffic signal heads, push buttons, controller cabinet, CCTV camera equipment.

Knowledge and experience traffic signal Factory Acceptance Tests, Snag List preparations and Commissioning in coordination with overseeing Highway Agencies.

Quality Inspections (RFIT) for temporary Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment inclusive of such as CCTV poles, cameras, communications devices and antennas, commissioning.

Quality inspections for installation of traffic signage, road markings, crash cushions and other traffic control devices.

Working knowledge of roadway construction to ensure effective communication with other departments.

Maintaining good working relationship and good communication with contractor representative to ensure timely execution of instructions.

Taking a proactive role in ensuring good general HSE practices on the project. Identifying for unsafe conditions, hazard IDs, Near Misses. Instructing Stop Works for activities which are unsafe and present imminent / serious hazard to workforce.

Investigate traffic control devices routinely within the capital city and submit report of deficiencies.
Traffic Management Liaison at the Municipal Government meetings. Investigate complaints from local government official and recommend remedial action.
Undertake planning, supervision, collection and analysis of traffic data for traffic studies under the guidance of the Engineer. Data include: intersection counts, pedestrian survey, travel time and delay surveys pedestrian overpass assessments.
Conduct preliminary analysis of intersection volumes for either improving existing intersections or for design of proposed ones.
Preparing intersection traffic analysis using micro-simulation software: Signalised Intersection Design and Research Aid (SIDRA).
Review Temporary Traffic Management Plans. Projects reviewed included:

Investigate public complaints with respect to traffic congestion and road safety, and recommend remedial action.
Draft preliminary drawings for traffic control devices jobs using AutoCAD.
Draft legal notices for one-way and parking prohibition regulations for traffic management schemes.
Assist with developing Bill of Quantities and Engineers Estimates.

Traffic Management Centre Project for the provision of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) on East West Corridor through city capital. Project awarded to IBI Group, Canada and involved installation of the following elements:
9 Nos CCTV cameras installed on high masts.
Upgrading nine signalized traffic signal junctions to provide remote control via Traffic Management Centre. Inclusive of controller cabinets, conduits, junction boxes, mast arms foundations, loop detectors, traffic signals and wireless antennas.
Installation of microwave Vehicle Detection Units.
Installation of controller cabinet of two large Variable Message Signs.
Installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment inclusive of CCTV cameras, microwave vehicle detections, cabinet controller, gantry-mounted Variable Message Signs controllers.
Routinely troubleshoot traffic signal faults, assist in conducting repairs to cabinet or field equipment and doing cost estimate for repairs.
Routinely conduct preventative maintenance of traffic signal equipment including cabinet and field equipment.
Implement TTC plans for near side, far side, and shoulder works at intersections.
Programming of cabinet controllers including Econolite ASC 3 and Eagle Controllers.
Assist with the design and implementation of TTC plan for all works above.
Administrative tasks inclusive of: writing correspondence, preparing job estimates, developing reports, developing and maintaining the company Microsoft Access database.
