IT Trainer & Help Desk Job
I have been the only full-time employee working on all training and help-desk aspects of informatics. Answering directly to the Informatics Director, I have a very wide range of responsibilities including:
Installing and configuring computer systems, monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks, talking staff through a series of actions - either face-to-face or over the telephone, troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults; working on all Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7), Windows server 2003, running network applications to support system and users, prepare training programs for the various applications, develop, maintain and apply orientation training for new employees to familiarize them with the sophisticated system in place at the hospital. Skill set to maintain corporate quality especially in a critical industry like the health care.

- Develop, maintain and apply orientation training for new employees to familiarize them with the sophisticated system.
- Provide spot support to critical help-desk issues that often times cover software and hardware issues, network troubleshoot and conduct proactive assessment of all applications and staff.
- Installs, assembles, configures and upgrades computers, servers, operating systems (Windows All) and software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
- Assists in instructing IHB staff in the use of our ERP system, standard business and administrative software, including word processing, spreadsheets and database management; provides instruction or written documentation where required
- Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems.
- Provide technical assistance to computer system users, answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
- Read technical manuals, confer with users, and conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support.
- Add value to the department by providing continuous informatics education.
- Monitor Processes, materials, or surroundings -- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
