Eleven years after leaving Omniyat, a company of which I was co-founder and brand architect,
Omniyat's Executive Chairman reached out to me to rejoin and help rebuild the brand after years of
decline. Reporting directly to the Executive Chairman I handled aspects of marketing,
communications, branding and media relations, and acting as the official spokesperson for the
company with the media and at all public events. Responsible for the company's external and internal
communications strategy and the communications budget, as well as building the company's brand
image. Using online and offline communications to ensure a positive reflection of the company's
stature, including the website, social media and Linkedin accounts. Personally wrote all the
company's press releases in both English and Arabic, as well as writing the speeches and
presentations of the Executive Chairman and coaching him on the delivery of the speeches.
Developed the company's mission statement and ensured that all team members work towards its
implementation. As a former journalist, I have excellent relations with all the Arabic and English media
in the UAE and the region, and highly respected by the journalists as someone with integrity and
excellent communications skills.
I left Dubai in January 2021 to come back to the UK to become a full-time carer for my mother who
was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She passed away recently and I'm now looking to move back
to the UAE with my wife and one of our daughters (the other is a medical student in London).

Reporting the Regional Managing Director for the Middle East, I was fully responsible for the brand
communications strategy and brand budget for the company's three brands: BMW, Rolls Royce and
MINI through the Middle East region. Developed excellent relationships with all the media and
journalists in the region. Personally wrote all press releases in Arabic and English and the speeches
of the Managing Director. Acted as the Official Spokesman for BMW Group in the Middle East, and
conducted on-air live TV interviews as well as media interviews. Developed and managed the
company's website and ensured it is always current and updated.

Head of Public Relations
  • February 1997 to October 1998

After a successful career as a journalists, I joined the region's leading communications agency at the
time as Head of their new Public Relations and Corporate Communications Division. I started the
division from scratch and was responsible for the PR and communications strategy of top brands like
Philip Morris and Ford in the Middle East. Responsible for writing press releases and speeches for
the brands in both English and Arabic, and organizing press conferences as well as preparing
orporate presentations and Annual Accounts publications for a range of brands.
