- Lead the completion of feasibility studies, conceptual design, schematic design and detailed engineering for Electrical related works as per authorities (ADDC, ADCD & ETISALAT) requirement in accordance with international standards.
- Assist in liaising with authorities for approval.
- Preparation of preliminary study, reports and drawings for electrical department during contract bidding for new projects.
- Controlling and monitoring the day to day activities of design team and reporting to Technical Manager for better project delivery.
- Responding to correspondences of client concerning electrical works.
- Check and approve the design drawings before issuing to authorities, clients and QS Team to prepare for the BOQ.
- Co-ordination with other departments like Architectural, Structural, Contract, Construction Departments by assisting and attending in-house meetings.
- Preparation of electrical specifications for tender in accordance with ADDC regulations, International Standards & project requirements.
- Review and process Contractor’s technical material submittals and shop drawings against their scope of work.
- Clarify queries raised by electrical site staff on approval of shop drawings, technical submittal and material submittals.
- Review the relevant As-Built drawings as submitted by Contractor and make sure that all site conditions are properly addressed.
- Guiding Contractor to execute works in compliance with specifications, approved submittals approved shop drawings, and approved samples.
- Reply to Contractor’s raised RFI related to design issues, and execution of works.
- Check and approve the electrical sub contractor’s pre-qualification for their technical capability, engineering, credibility and experience in the local market.
- Carry out all electrical related inspections as required.
- Reviewing variations and Claims from contractor.
- Installation and commissioning of electrical services, fire alarm and emergency lighting system.
- Load Calculation &Load Schedule from DB’s, SMDB’s, MDB, Capacitor Bank rating and Preparation of Single Line Diagram.
- Experience in Single Phase & Three Phases (Residential and Commercial).
- Investigation and Troubleshooting of electrical problems.
- Installation and checking the size of the cables according to the single line diagram.
- Ensure sub‐contractor quality and work output for growth to increase the profit.
- Preparation of reports and updates for the Manager about the status of the project.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards procedures.
- Coordinate with other services to prepare the shop drawings for electrical services and obtaining the approval from consultant.
- Control that the execution of works on site comply with general rules and design.
- Ensure the surveillance, the coordination and the good quality of construction.
- Familiarization with International Standards, Symbols and Notation.
- Instructing work safety according to government regulations.
- Conduct electrical inspection to check in compliance with project specifications and requirements and reporting of inspection and test results of; power and lighting systems, panel board and protections, termination and splices, fire alarm system, motors and transformer, emergency generating unit and earthing system.
