While providing line management to two team members, I lead the communications work for WVI’s operations in Jordan, Syria and Turkey. My work includes providing high quality success stories for donor reporting, producing multimedia content and managing two social media channels for the response office in both Arabic and English. I support with press statements and their translations, act as a spokesperson for the organisation and strengthen media relations to help endorse our advocacy messages. Additionally, I oversee internal communications, protect and standardise the brand across all countries, and occasionally facilitate field visits.
During my postgraduate year in London, I worked as a part-time Marketing Assistant at Christie's Education. I provided general administrative support to the marketing team and assisted with the delivery of marketing campaigns and marketing collaterals. I also liaised and briefed designers with marketing projects and coordinated delivery of assets in a timely fashion. Additionally, I supported the development of digital marketing campaigns and researched marketing trends and provided insights to the team.
I was occasionally in charge of preparing the content calendar for British Council Jordan's
Facebook page and other events managed by the Council including the Education UK Exhibition.
I coordinated the communications function in our offices across the Middle East: Lebanon, Syria,
Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen and Turkey. This included managing five social media accounts
for the regional office, working on packaging media and communications plans, and pitching
stories to journalists and media persons. I also translated press releases, internal reports and
other documents into Arabic and provided support and training in media and communications
when needed.
I was responsible for the administration of "Creative Jordan" website, Facebook page and Twitter account for the European Union National Institutes for Culture.
I researched, wrote and published stories about successes and needs of World Vision projects,
including taking photos, shooting and editing videos. I also reviewed and updated web content,
as well as liaised with Jordanian media on local events related to the Syrian Response, WVI's
work and key humanitarian issues. Additionally, I prepared schedules and accompanied visits
to the office and the field by journalists, WVI staff from abroad, celebrities and VIP personnel.
My work included working on reports and social media content and ensuring consistency with
WVI corporate branding guidelines.
I managed film equipment's bookings and editing lab's usage, taught and assisted in video editing, created DVD menus, converted and burnt films on DVDs, and archived all projects made by Filmmakers who used any of RFC's assets. Plus, I managed RFC's YouTube Channel's video content.
I coordinated Filmmaking workshops at the RFC and Film Clubs located in several governorates. I also supervised the Film Clubs’ activities and evaluated their outcome.
