I am the Project Engineer within the Project Management Unit of Water Supply Augmentation Project (Bisri Dam) at CDR. The project is co-financed by the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank by an amount of 474 and 128 MUSD respectively. The Project, has a World Bank “Category A” status, and is implemented using the World Bank’s applicable procurement guidelines and standards. In addition, I am helping in the management of Greater Beirut Water Supply Project (GBWSP) since the two complementary projects has the same Project Director.
CDR is a Lebanese governmental organization, engaged in all phases of project implementation from planning, feasibility analysis, detailed design, bidding, expropriation, execution, and operation and maintenance of most public facilities on the behalf of the Government of Lebanon or other Lebanese public establishments. CDR benefits from the services of many local and/or international contractors and consultant companies to assist and control the process of construction and operation of the diverse public facilities.
Scope of work:
- Responsible of the project procurement activities (including World Bank Procurement System STEP);
- Prepare and provide assistance in RFP and TOR preparations;
- Evaluate Bids and EOIs (expression of interests) related to the project;
- Prepare and consolidate Progress Reports for submission to World Bank;
- Follow up on Expropriation matters, ESIA/ESMP and RAP implementations;
- Assist the Project Director and PMU;
- Oversee the implementation of the contracts of the Communication Consultancy firm, External Monitoring Consultant, Environmental Consultancy firm.
- Regular presence on site to oversee the overall project construction activities;
- Liaise and coordinate with the Dam Safety Panel of Experts and Environmental and Social Panel.

This Project aims to ensure a continuous water supply for Greater Beirut area during 6 months of summer with a flow of 250, 000 cum/day by constructing an embankment Dam (74 m height), a water treatment plant, HPP, and a wastewater master plan.
•Greater Beirut Water Supply Project (Awali Tunnel)
Financed by the World Bank (IBRD)
The GBWSP is divided into several components, out of which CDR is implementing the bulk water supply infrastructure project: Tunnel 24 Km length and 2.8m diameter and twin transfer lines for a length of 10 km of Ductile Iron pipelines of 1, 400 mm ND each.
Project: Feasibility Assessment and Design for the Upgrade of Irrigation Networks in North Lebanon and the Beqaa
Client: UNDP
• Assess the condition of existing irrigation networks
• Determine bills of quantities and cost-estimates for the rehabilitation of the canals
• Determine the baseline conditions in the respective regions and accordingly prioritize the networks that need to upgraded
• Prepare the design drawings, including sections and elevations.
• Prepare tender documents and technical specifications.
Project: Design of Water Facilities and Supervision of the Works' Execution in Nabatieh District - South Lebanon

Project: General Assessment of the water supply situation in Nahr Al Bared Camp and its Adjacent Areas in the North of Lebanon

• Characterize the existing water resources and infrastructure in terms of quality and quantity;
• Identify current and future water requirements of NBC and Adjacent Areas;
• Propose 3 scenarios for addressing the identified needs.

• Design and modeling for potable water distribution networks and sewer networks.

Infrastructure Department - Hydrology
Project: Water Supply and Wastewater Project in Sahel AKKAR
Design, modeling and analysis of water distribution networks, sewer networks, transmission systems, pump stations and water tanks in several villages in AKKAR region.
Reporting the project, preparation of technical specifications and bill of quantities in liaison with client and project team.
Coordination with all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structure, architecture etc.) in order to meet the project requirements. Allocate work to other members of team in order to ensure delivery of design to quality, time and budget.

Acquired skills: in geotechnical and laboratory work - surveying and layout - daily construction site supervision - fill/excavation works - execution of piles - construction works of: viaducts-overpasses- underpasses-box culverts-retaining walls.
Master's in Hydraulics ended with a publication CrossMark paper: "Modeling the Temporal Variability of Zinc Concentrations in Zinc Roof Runoff"
