1) Provided R & D support for the development of road paints of various kinds
2) Analyzed failure mechanisms in polymer composites using thermal, mechanical and rheological measurements
3) Resolved customer complaints and product failure related issues
Supervised quality control and product development using halloysite clay for various markets. Travelled across USA to meet with potential customers and business partners for developing new products. Prepared work instructions for laboratory, technical reports and other documents for lab personnel, higher level management and customers. Maintained chemical characterization laboratory for testing industrial minerals.
• Developed pH responsive polymer capsules and latexes
• Characterized polymers; rheology, structure-property relationship, molecular weight distribution, thermal/mechanical properties
• Maintained lab with Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer, Gel Permeation Chromatography, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, NMR and FT-IR
Performed research on polymer nanocomposites and clays. Mentored undergraduate and graduate students for working with chemistry and nanotechnology lab equipment.
PhD work was focused on polymer clay composites and anticorrosion coatings.
MS thesis was focused on biomedical applications of NMR spectroscopy.
