Key Accountabilities:
Annual Operating plan:
- Overall accountable for AOP completion of process and documentation.
- Ensure proper alignment with CFO process and guidelines
- Ensure all financials within the sector are properly assessed and aligned with the initiative owners across businesses.
Target Setting/Forecasting:
- Responsible for setting the financial targets across each Division.
- Ensure proper alignment and coordination across businesses within the sector along with proper assessment of targets/forecast.
- Provide financial trend analysis to facilitate decision making process.
Performance measurement & Monitoring:
- Responsible for measuring and monitoring financial and business performance based on agreed targets.
- Responsible for developing financial modules to ensure proper measuring and monitoring all financial aspects (revenue streams, expenses, assets, liabilities, and highlight opportunities and value creation to businesses.
Business Review process:
- Responsible for business review activities.
- Managing reviews by Ensuring proper scheduling and required information for the reviews.
- Timely communication of minutes of meetings and consistent follow-ups on all action points.
Budget/Expense control:
- Responsible for budget control across all businesses.
- Ensure proper and tight control on all operating & capital expenses across all businesses.
- Ensure Payments/expenses are acted in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
MIS:
- Accountable and responsible in continuous transformation of Central MIS to become an ideal center providing insightful information to facilitate business decision making
Performed assignments in various capacities leading from MIS manager to financial controller in Retail division, carried out the following assignments :
Participate as a close business partner in achieving short and long term goals and strategic planning
Manage financial budgeting and planning process
Manage consolidation of financial reporting of the branches by classifications needed by the business.
Manage & Control OPEX / CAPEX
Support business in setting their goals and support them to provide standard reports, plans and strategies and ensure they are carried out in accordance with Sector Strategy.
Help and subordinates in full understanding the business dynamics
Maintain financial control including accuracy and integrity of Financials and controls over risk General Ledger accounts of whole division.
Assess the adequacy of loan loss provision for personal Islamic finance.
Help in identifying expense reduction opportunities and ensure controls over operating expenses for all branches and cost centers.
Monitor key financial performance indicators (Balanced Score card)
Ensure compliance to accounting policies, standards and adherence to the corporate guidelines.
Reconciles Financial MIS figures from source applications versus the general ledger to ensure the integrity of the financial MIS reports.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and semi-annual and ad-hoc statutory and regulatory reports and surveys, for the sections related to their business for all relevant SAMA returns particularly new SAMA Islamic returns
Identifying various cost savings opportunities.
Job Descriptions
Re-designing and optimizing Financial and Management Reports
Carried out a review of financial and management reporting process to ensure that reports meet the current requirements of the bank and are generated accurately and timely. Extensively used Detailed Report Writer (DRW) tool of GL: M in this project.
Development of accounting policies and procedures manual in co-ordination with Ernst & Young:
Participated in the development of a detailed accounting policies and procedures manual in coordination with consultants Ernst & Young. Incorporated the current accounting and reporting structure in the manual. The areas covered were: wholesale banking, Retail banking, trade finance, nostrum and vestry management, administrative services etc.
Re-engineering Project:
Actively participated in the re-engineering project team to optimize the functional grouping within Finance Division and rationalizing the reporting lines in keeping with the core functionality of the division.
