In my current position as a Static equipment mechanical engineer at Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company/British Petroleum (GUPCO/BP) I gained the following skills and experiences by passing through multiple projects (onshore/offshore):
Mechanical Projects skills and experience:
Develop or review the required engineering scope of work, statement of requirements for multiple projects.
Review and submit several projects’ MTO “Material take off”, MRQ “Material requisition” for various vendors as per project specification British Petroleum Engineering technical practice “ETPs”, International Codes and Standards (NACE, ASTM, ASME, API) regarding valves, gas lift scrubbers, separators and piping fitting.
Develop the technical bid evaluation for multi valves, piping fittings and pressure vessels tenders’ bids.
Review the technical engineering offers for Multiple Pressure vessel according to ASME VIII Div.1 and the company specification (BP ETPs & GUPCO site technical practice).
Engineering Skills and experience:
• Develop and issue the Pressure vessel Mechanical Data sheet and the related request for quotation document.
• Develop the Genetic GUPCO/BP Static equipment Specification.
• Develop the Generic GUPCO/BP valves Standard Data sheet.
• Develop and issue the Design and engineering section for ASME Quality Control Manual in GUPCO ASME accreditation Workshop Project. Design the Pressure vessel Demo required for the ASME committee Audit event and develop the required documents (calculation by PV Elite, Construction Drawing, Bill of Material and the detailed drawing).
• I participated in several HAZOPS as the mechanical SPA, and also having the required Knowledge and awareness to review the required P&IDs from the mechanical point of view.
Mechanical Design Skills and experience:
Perform mechanical engineering assessments for the in service pressure vessels as per Inspection reports delivered from the Inspection monitoring department using API 510 (in service pressure vessel inspection standard) and the original construction code to find out the vessels situation and the remaining life time.
Prepare the repair procedures (temporary/Permanent) that required by the vessel mechanical engineering assessment as per API 510 and ASME PCC-2.
Evaluate the vessel defects and flaws according to API 579 (Pressure vessel fitness for service). Have the capability to perform Level 1 and 2 assessments for the following defects:
I. General metal loss
II. Local metal loss
III. Pitting
IV. Dents and gouge
V. Shell distortion
Gained inherent experience to carry out Full Mechanical Calculations for the Pressure vessel by PV ELITE 2014.
Review and submit the mechanical engineering packages for several numbers of pressure vessel according to the company specification( ETP BP and GUPOC site technical practice), ASME VIII Div.1, UBC, WRC 107, WRC 279 and ASCE 7-2005
Review and submit the Mechanical FEED Study documents for NS-394 Platform (platform located at the Red sea region and Sinai Peninsula "Egypt).
Conversant with ASME Sec VIII Div.1& 2 and working knowledge with ASTM, API650, API 653, API 530, ASME B31.3, ASME II, WRC 107, WRC297 &NACE MR1075.
• I am also graduated from British petroleum Development assessment plan process for the fresh graduated mechanical engineers under the supervision of the Regional mechanical technical authority of the British Petroleum company in Egypt.
