As a Shift In-Charge:
● During Shifts, I am in-charge in making sure that the desalination plant, with a capacity of 60 MIGD, is running safely and is hitting the target volume and quality set by the client.
● Responsible for the operation of Offsite Facilities and oversee the operation starting from Raw water, Desalination Process, Demineralization, and Potable Water Treatment Plant.
● Monitor and control the whole plant operations with the aid of Distributed Control System (DCS) to achieve the desired outcome of each processes in the plant.
● In-charge for approving work permits that are conducted within my area of responsibility and coordinates with the Safety Team to make sure that Safety Procedure and Standards are always met (SAFETY FIRST).
● Compute and determine the optimum dosing of chemicals needed in each processes (if required) and projects the consumption to ensure that the stock available is enough for at least 48 hours of operation.
● Conducting root-cause analysis of equipment failure.
● Perform Clean In Place (CIP) on Reverse Osmosis (RO) racks based on design and operational requirements.
● Perform Chemically Enhanced Backwashing (CEB) and/or Clean In Place (CIP) on Ultrafiltration (UF) racks.
● Monitor and coordinate with the Laboratory Personnel the different parameters for the Quality of the Product Water or Permeate and making sure that it is complying to our costumer’s standards.
● Monitor and coordinate with the Mechanical Team regarding parameters of pumps and other equipment that are directly affecting the operations of the Desalination Plant.
● Generate and Sending of reports to Immediate Supervisor (Chief Operator, Operations Manager and Plant Manager) e.g Daily Production report, Daily Chemical Consumption, Chemical Stock Balance, Capacity and Availability Report, et.al.
● Verify and analyze of data gathered by field operators: SDI, Total Iron, Free Chlorine, Turbidity, Conductivity, pH and Temperature. To ensure that all processes are running smoothly and safely.
● Prepare work order for any repair needed to be performed to make sure that no downtime of plant operation is achieved.
● Assist the Chief Operator in making monthly reports and monthly schedule for all process controllers and field operators.
