a) Responsible for managing comprehensive range of services covering daily Planning and execution of logistical Operations viz, Arranging customs duty exemption letter, Handling container / break bulk cargo transportation from vessel, Coordination with Heavy lift transport vendors for bidding, appointing surveyors for route surveys, cargo inspection, handling claims etc.
b) Provides necessary instructions to Freight forwarders, agents, logistics provider based on requirements & controls the dedicated logistics provider and monitors their activities & coordinate with Port & Customs authorities for ensuring smooth flow of the materials.
c) Plan for quickest delivery to site without any delay, demurrages & detention of cargoes so on.
d) Works closely with Operations & Site personnel to ensure that the services fulfilled in compliance with safety measures.
e) RFQ, negotiate rate with shipping line / agents / forwarders / Heavy lift transport vendors
f) Closely monitoring the excess rates levying by shipping line / agents, transport vendors to cut the cost.
g) Negotiating with container lines directly for demurrage rates if required.
h) Cost savings across divisions & identification of long term cost optimization.
i) Makes recommendations to reporting officer on operational practices and processes for cost reduction & improve efficiency.
j) Prepare and update daily logistics reports such as Daily logistics report, Weekly Logistics report (PSR), Budget forecast report & Local cost status report.
k) Initiation and establishment of SOP and operating targets in transport operations
l) Review monthly invoices submitting by vendor.
m) Responsible for managing complete end to end for time sensitive cargoes, shipments under ‘Single Point Responsibility’
