Responsible for;
Assist the ECP Offshore Construction Superintendent and all ECP team onboard AKPO in the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment standards & objectives, in compliance with MAESTRO referential, HSE MS and Company E&P Referential during AKPO FFSD 2018;
Conduct with Contractor, regular HSE inspections of project activities. Maintain record of such inspections detailing the finding and recommendations. To follow up the clearance of inspection punch list items and they are rapidly closed by Contractor,
Monitoring the effective implementation of the HSE procedures and of the precaution indicated in the risk assessments and JSAs;
Coaching the personnel at site about the new procedures;
Participating to the HSE meetings as required;
Distributing daily reports and sharing lesson learnt during daily pre start briefing;
Carrying out daily site HSE inspections;
Controlling the proper use of PPE at workplaces and report non-compliances;
Providing assistance in case of incidents at workplaces and participating to the investigation as required;
Informing about any HSE violation found at workplaces and fill in proper report of violation;
Creating a transparent and cooperative relation with Construction Team providing professional advice and support;
Pro-actively advising on environmental, occupational health and safety aspects during the planning of all Work activities;
Leading systematic workplace verification inspections;
Spending a minimum of eighty (80) percent of time at Work locations monitoring compliance and providing coaching on HSE procedures, reinforcing best practices on environmental and safe work, sharing lessons learned and reinforcing positive behaviours;
Exercising Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviours in the field are identified;
Ensure that all Construction Equipment (lifting appliance/accessories, shackles, sling, chain blocks, etc) are fit for purpose and have proper certification and color coding / tagging where required prior to use on working areas;
Check the preparation of work activities on site with the aim of making the area safe and practical for the job with limited impact on other activities;
Ensure that all recommendations expressed in the Permit to Work are implemented;
Control the development of the work until its completion and ensure that the area is left in an acceptable condition;
Anticipates risks, stops any activity when the situation may drift and immediately reports to the appropriate heads of department;
Serves as a member of the FPSO’s Emergency Response Intervention Team (ERIT);
Assists in monitoring safety equipment test, inspection and maintenance level to ensure reliability;
Inspects administrative and operations areas on site to ensure compliance to standards and procedures;
Update on weekly basis EPOB matrix of ECP team onboard including all Contractors under ECP responsibility;
Assists in the conduct of site specific safety training to improve safety awareness;
Participates in the incidents and anomalies investigations and close out and ECP PTW audit
Provides assistance in the areas of waste segregation, quantification, labeling, containment and recording;
Carryout duties as directed by the Offshore Construction Superintendent and the Offshore Head of HSE;
Ensures the communication and implementation of HSE system in assigned work locations;
Takes part in the conduct of Hazard Identification studies, Risk Assessment, Cause Tree Analysis preparation/meeting, etc;
Pro-actively implement HSE programs in assigned locations and ensure that there is ongoing awareness and
Assistant muster checker during drills and emergency situations.
Attend daily HSE Feedback meeting on activities and the anomalies of the day.
Daily HSE/Toolbox admonition prior to commencement of daily activities offshore.

Attend daily management schedule meetings to discuss pressing issues and how site was managed the previous day.
Supervise and oversee all the contractor safety supervisors on site as well as assigning their daily and weekly schedules.
Plan weekly schedule for safety officers and their locations for each week as well as FIRST AID & FIRE FIGHTING TEAM. (FiFi TEAM) trainings.
Validation of work permits to ensure commencement of job on site in the morning.
Maintain good working relationships with contractors. Where necessary intervene to stop work where appropriate standards are not met.
To ensure that all project personnel are motivated appropriately with respect to HSE concerns and best practices.
Maintain appropriate HSE records.
Carrying out regular inspections on site and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures and TOTAL GOLDEN RULES.
Carrying out quantified safety audit in accordance with procedures.
Carrying out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Accident/Incident reporting procedures and analyzing all data, making recommendations to the COMPANY/CONTRACTOR project manager to avoid any recurrences also participated in CTA for incidents that occurred on site and prepared reports
Managing HSE training/SITE INDUCTION programs for newly employed personnel on board before they are qualified to go into the plant.
Ensure that company policies are posted, known, understood and applied by all employees.
Conduct applicable HSE training for all personnel on site.
Also monitor jobs, to ensure jobs are done safely and as require TOTAL GOLDEN RULES.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports to Total on the contractor aspects.
Prepare Events and Anomaly follow up updates on daily bases in the events and anomaly update register.
Preparation of a temporary equipment register to be updated monthly to ensure there is a knowledge of what equipment is to be serviced, what equipment is okay and or not in good working condition.
Ensure there is always a general toolbox meeting, on each morning before workers break up into their smaller groups/teams to plan their jobs and hold a toolbox talk for the available job.
Review and sign JSA documentation for permit and sign them into approval to be used in permits generation.
Prepare site reports on weekly HSE MANAGEMENT TOURS ensure factors pointed out are cleared out.
Prepare signage’s to be placed in strategic places to show where there are impending dangers and ensure anomalies are closed out when necessary.
Prepare daily MAN HOUR, POB and update NOTICES.
Participate in risk assessment and safety workshops (i.e. JSA, JRA, etc.)
Generate Permit to Work (PTW) using tracks.
Permit issuance/monitoring and validation on site.
Follow up of jobs on site to ensure they are correctly done.
The daily photos and prepare reports for ECP team alongside work leader on site.

* Was engaged with the INTERVENTION Team on board the AKPO FPSO.

• Carried out complementary services in NAOC OB/OB GAS PLANT, Omuku.
• Optimization of TEG-Triethyleneglycol consumption rate and TEG performance monitory in OB/OB Gas Plant.
• Took daily retune samples of TEG at different gas outlets and ran daily analysis with Dean and stack method of water collection with the use of Toluene and round bottom flask.
• Prepared daily, weekly and monthly reports with necessary advice to the control room for proper running of the entire Gas Plant.
• Also supplied proprietary chemicals like: MEG, DEG, and TEG to oil producing companies like: ELF, (TOTAL), AGIP, SHELL, CHEVRON, MOBIL and made follow up for payments where necessary.
• Was able to restore a molecular sieve problem in less than 3 weeks of my stay in OB/OB Gas Plant.
