Made for Brands (MFB) is a design studio specialized in branding and story telling for brand, developing strategies and identities that hold a strong foot-hold in their fields.
As Senior Art Director, I am responsible for creating the narrative of brands and designing the applications that give the brand's story a voice. Everything a brand needs from A-Z, including and identity (logo, language, graphic elements), to interactive interfaces targeted at enhancing user experience.
After graduating I found a senior in-house designer position at a publishing house for children’s books (Yuki Press). There I worked as both a designer and creative director for all projects. One of the books I designed and illustrated, Ana wa Abi wa Al Chocola (translated from Arabic: Me, my Father, and Chocolate), won Best Design and Art Direction at the Arab Book Fair 2010.
I realized that I had strong organization skills, and I enjoyed seeing projects through my vision, start to finish. Thus, I decided to start my own design studio and build from scratch a design firm that I could instill with my beliefs and hard work. I find the most interesting approach to work these days, whether in design or not is interdisciplinary work, that is what drew me to design. As a designer you go into a library and research under all fields and areas, cause depending on the objective of your design you need to be able to communicate your clients vision as well as your own. In practice, I also find that mixing two different styles or moods allows for the creation of something new and allows the viewer to look at something that not only conveys a message, but also makes them think and interact with the design. For example, in the book Ana wa Abi wa Al Chocola, I used photography and layered it with illustrations to create a new visual for a world of chocolate.
Like doctors designers never stop learning, there is always evolution and new things to discover. I have a good eye for design, and I exercise my artistic mind and eye by reading and writing, and remembering the basic goal all designers share; visual communication.
Our work spans over a variety of design areas including, corporate branding, publication, packaging, and website design.
