As a Project Manager I function within the Engineering & Operations Department providing a support function to the establishment in all aspect of cranes, lifting and support service activities.
Contribute to the establishment sales effort, through direct client contact and meetings, with particular focus on target customers as defined within the establishment business plan. Duties encompass the assistance with compilation and cost control of the business unit budgets and, in conjunction with the Engineering & Operations Manager, identify areas for business development.
Contribute to quarterly performance reviews with line management regarding the department’s services to enable accurate review of business unit performance.
When undertaking visits to site or offshore installations, promote and maintain effective communications with Client representatives and Sparrows Offshore personnel.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION:
Provide an administration and technical support function to the business unit for all service area activities. Responsible for assisting with the regular and correct compilation and condition monitoring of information relating to all aspects of the allocated projects.
PROJECT ENGINEERING:
Major function is to provide a comprehensive Project Engineer function within the establishment, encompassing.
- Preparation of proposals and tenders.
- Administration of assigned project files.
- Liaison with clients and subcontractors.
- Preparation of calculations and work procedures
- Completion of purchase requisitions.
- Arrange equipment dispatch and transportation.
- Compilation of job close-out reports.
- Preparation of engineering invoice drafts and financial control of assigned projects
Worked as Structural Design Engineer for Sparrows Design Team. Majorly involved in projects related to platforms owned by BP.
I have carried out lifting plan / mechanical handling procedures. To prepare lifting plans I have delivered steel design calculations for lifting padeyes, skid tracks, skid trolley frame, bolt connections, welding connection and gantry frames.
I have been carrying out appraisal report for crane boom fatigue analysis and boom rest design with aid of software package FS2000 and Ansys. My current work has provided me with an opportunity to gain knowledge of DNV standards, Lloyds standards, Rigging Legislations LOLER.
I was responsible for managing staff, develop client relations and diversification of the business. Seconded to Waterman Group and Capita Symonds as Sr. Structural Engineer.

• Lead assessor and designer for precast pre-stressed concrete bridges, wingwalls, strengthening masonry arch bridge, reinforced concrete pedestrian subway, widening of reinforced concrete N2 containment parapets.
• Conceptual specimen and tender design for various structures, preparing cost estimates based on latest SPON’s.
• Supervising CAD Technician’s based in India (Mumbai) and Glasgow for preparing General Arrangement and detailed drawings.
Reporting to Project Manager, I was part of Jacobs Nuclear and Defence Team working as structural design engineer for the Devonport Royal Dockyard Project. A £230M facility by the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Project:
➢ Design of Reactor Access House Structure including Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Services
• Designing, detailing secondary steel work and carryout seismic analysis for supporting HVAC and Cable Trays.
• Liaising between different engineering departments and suppliers.
• Design based on BS 5950, Unistrut Members and MathCAD.
Seconded to Las Vegas Paving Corporation as a design engineer for widening of the I-15 South freeway, addition of collector-distributor roads, 5 redesigned interchanges, 26 new bridge sections and 35 retaining walls and 1.5 miles of sound walls along I-15 from Tropicana Avenue to Silverado Ranch Boulevard. Project:
➢ Nevada Department of Transportation, I-15 South, Design-Build Project
• Designer and checker for different types of retaining walls, sound walls and moment slabs based on NDOT Manuals and AASHTO.
• Checking and solving services clash issues, CAD supervision for preparing drawings by liaising between different departments.
• Responsible for providing technical assistance, producing work packs, procurement plans.

Assist senior team members with design and analysis, condition inspections and site reviews. Produce reports, sketch schemes, options reviews and support contract procurement and project management. • Team member working on the inspection, assessment and feasibility strengthening of various bridges based on BS 5400:3, Network Rail’s Codes and extensive use of MS Excel. PTS (Personal Track Safety) and First Aid Trained.
• Author for the Technical Assessment Reports, which forms a part of SAC 2003-2013 Project Execution Process
• Carriageway drainage, surface channels, linear channels, gullies and wetlands design. Answer to RFI's.
" Forth Replacement Crossing
Core Modules- Innovative Structures, Pre-stressed Concrete Design and Tall Building, Dynamic Analysis, Stability and Plasticity, Health and Safety Management. Academic Project- Design and Analysis of Snap-fit Connections. The design involves use of Linear Analysis and Finite Element Software (ABAQUS, Microsoft Excel and Dufem) and also a parametrical study of different models. The aim is to reduce the cost of project by decreasing the construction time. This can be achieved by replacing the bolts and welds which are used for joining the truss member by Snap-Fit.
Core Modules- Structural Analysis, Design of Steel Structures, Design of Concrete Structures, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Foundation Engineering, Surveying, Fluid Mechanics and Soil Mechanics. Academic Project- Investigate and design of a rigid and flexible pavement for 5 km long G.T. road bypass stretch in Aligarh. The region is low lying and the water table can rise upto the ground level. Design is carried out by using Cumulative Standard Axle Method and CBR curves suggested by IRC.
