Areas of Responsibilities as special education teacher:

• To assess student, plan and implement student Individualized Education Programme (IEPs).

• To effectively manage the classroom by planning and conducting activities for balanced program of instruction, demonstration and implementation of work for the students in the class.
• To update student records in an accurate, complete and timely manner, prepare reports on various activities as per the guidelines/checklist.

• To attend and contribute in the intra/inter unit meetings. To implement actions discussed in the meetings. To schedule case review meetings with intervention team. To contribute to the effectively to the case discussion and implement actions.
• To organize /supervise outdoor events/activities as advised by the respected HOD as per the guidelines.
• To maintain confidentiality of information about the students and their families.
• To maintain communication with parents daily through the dairy and biannually through reports and patents teacher meetings.
• To prepare materials and classrooms for various class activities.
• To implement methodologies / approaches / techniques those have been adopted by the centre and in alignment to the Curriculum.
• To adhere to all administrative and professional polices of the centre.
• To fully utilize the potential of volunteers and students on work experience programmes to enhance the training of the students in the centre.
• To supervise and guide the assistant teachers, teacher aides and helper in execution of their duties.
• To volunteer in various activities including fundraising for the center as and when required.
• To ensure safety of the children at all the times as per the safety procedures. To keep the concerned authorities and parents informed in case of emergencies.
