• Overall responsible for all Environment, Health, Safety & Security related to EFG LLC . Planning and implementation of EHS Systems & Practices in place in line with the AD EHSMS RF ver. 2.0 requirements, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standards.
Responsibilities are inclusive but not limited to a) standardizing and helping the functions in Identifying hazards, risks environmental aspects & impacts ..b) Effective planning, review and implementation of procedures incorporating all EHS related controls / methods in coordination with the functional and shift teams c) Monitoring, measurement and analysis of EHS data ( emission s, waste management, accidents, incidents and near misses etc.) d) Initiation and execution of effective corrective / Preventive actions for all EHS accidents / incidents e) Feedback and Information to top management on key major issues f) Emergency preparedness and response procedures g) induction of new employees and effective training in all EHS aspects h) Preparation and execution of Training related to EHS and Legal compliance of all EHS requirements.
• Identification and definition of departmental objectives in line with organizational goals and deployment of the same across the function to the functional / shift teams
• Monitoring & Analyzing EHS performance against set targets on a periodic defined basis in terms of and Corrective /Preventive action in terms of deviations
• Department Budget Preparation in line with Production / Annual plans; Definition of Specific cost of materials and equipment , Setting of related targets for cost specific / reduction activities and achieving the same.
• Resource planning & management in terms of equipment, facilities, Manpower and materials in the function; Ensuring availability of resources.
• Establish and maintain an image for the department as a dynamic, progressive, professionally managed, with a culture inculcated with high degree of Environment , Safety, Health and Customer orientation .
• Identification, Planning & Implementation of Management Systems
AD EHSMS RF requirements, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Strive for the team members development by organizing training( on job and off job ) and effective two-way communications at various levels of the department to continually improve upon the resources in terms of effective and optimum utilization beneficial to both the management and the team members.
Highlights :
* Achieved 1 million man-hours without loss time injury for the company (16.67 months) of 276 employees.
* Played a vital and key role in achieving the prestigious “Environment Performance Certificate” from the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water in recognition to Emirates Float Glass LLC for its outstanding environmental performance during 2013 & 2012 and its efforts to assure sustainable environment awarded last January 10, 2013 and January 9, 2014 respectively. EHS department under my leadership was assessed by technical specialist from MoEW covering all aspects of the company’s environmental and operational activities.
• Company recipient for a Certificate of Recognition and Plaque for implementing “Delivering a World Class and Sustainable Waste Management System” awarded by the Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi last 14th May 2013. This award was given to EFG LLC as the only entity under the Industrial Sector endorsed by the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) who has demonstrated significant progress towards Waste Reduction.
• Company recipient of a Congratulatory Certificate for receiving the prestigious Environment Performance Card from the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water awarded by the Chief Executive Officer of ZonesCorp (Mohamed Hazan Al Qemzi) last 14th May 2013 and in recognition to the company’s commitment in implementing the AD EHSMS RF requirement and best practices.

• Company recipient for a Certificate of Recognition for continuously implementing “Safety in the Heat Programme” awarded by the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) awarded last 16th April 2013 culminating the 5th year anniversary of the programme. The programme enhanced the company’s capability in fostering a positive attitude to every employee in terms of Occupational Health and Safety awareness and implementation.
• Established and implemented the company’s OEMP in accordance to Federal and SRA requirements. Have maintained all parameters within the specified limits and requirements by practicing and implementing the mechanisms and codes of practices set forth by Sector Regulatory Authorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As IMS & EHSMS Management Representative;
1. Preparation and readiness of the Factory for the IMS & EHSMS certification and Third party Surveillance proper.
2. Acts as an Lead Internal Auditor for maintenance, implementation of the Management Systems in place.
3. IMS & EHSMS trainer for the Company personnel.
As EHS Asst. Manager;
1 . Establish, preparation & implementation of the AD EHSMS RF of the Company as per Sector Regulatory Authority requirement in the Abu Dhabi Industrial Sector.
1.a. Incident Investigation and Reporting in relation to Aspect/Impact Analysis & Hazard Identification Risk Analysis.
1.b. Implementation and maintenance of Emergency Plan of the Company by conducting Mock Drills, Logistical requirements, Communication & coordination.
1.c. Coordination with third party agencies in conformance to EHS requirements.
1.d. Waste Management system implementation and monitoring.
2. Implementation and monitoring of compliance for the Legal requirements as stipulated by UAE Laws and Local/Government Agencies.
2.a. Environmental & OEMP requirements as stipulated by EAD and Zones Corp.
2.b. Health & Safety requirements as stipulated in UAE Law# 24.
3. Responsible for the over-all Security activities for the Company.
4. Liason officer to Government agencies in taking care of Licences renewal, certificate and company functions related to Government sponsored activities, workshops and awareness related to EHS and other Legal requirements.
Assigned as Senior Engineer for shift Management and Process Control of the Cutting and Packing Department of the Float Glass Production line.
Ensure Plant-wide Methods & Systems of Manufacturing Practice of the Company are followed and implemented. Responsible to control quality of finished products before going to external customer/users. Develop, implement, check & standardize improvement actions related to Manufacturing & Production practices.
• Selected as one of the Technical Advisers for the Asia Pacific Region of Asahi Glass Ltd. amongst 12 float glass manufacturing plants which attends to Quarterly Conferences and Conventions for the presentation of Best Manufacturing practices which in turn be implemented to each factory in their respective countries.
• Attained for the company the Sigma 1 level of Quality by implementing the authored guidelines and procedures for product conformance.
· Responsible for the control, operation and budgeting of the Department to ensure smooth flow that will provide quality products at the least cost and time.

• Achieved a 10 million peso savings for the company by implementing recovery and recycling of the silver nitrate material used for Mirror coating process.
• Constantly achieving 5% reduction of annual operational budget for the department by implementing authored cost reduction measures and actions thru developed Key Performance Indicator matrix.
• Attained Sigma 3 level for EHS related incidents for the department for no loss time incident within the continuous 3 year period based on 120 operations personnel working in the department. This was recognized and was awarded for Safety Incentive Performance for the whole Asia-Pacific region consisting of 12 Float Glass manufacturing plants with the same nature of work and process operation.

• Awarded with certificate and cash award the “Highest Verified Savings for the Year” (2 million pesos) for the company (Republic Asahi Glass Corporation) for its PIP (Productivity Improvement Program).
• Awarded with certificate the “Highest Implemented Proposals” for the company (Republic Asahi Glass Corporation) for its PIP (Productivity Improvement Program).
• Awarded with certificate as an employee of the Company (Republic Glass Corporation) for rendering his full service (7 continuous days) during the onslaught of a super typhoon that flooded the whole facility.
1. Received the distinction certificate for Fire Service Instructor. 2. Received the Award of Excellence certificate for having complied will all the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Project.
“Qudorat” was developed by the Abu Dhabi EHS Center, in alignment with international best practice, under directions of the Abu Dhabi EHS Higher Committee, and in cooperation and consultation with: Regulatory authorities supervising AD EHSMS implementation within the sectors targeted with implementation, and other relevant Abu Dhabi government authorities.
