During construction phase, commissioning start-up, I provide expert advice and direction from HSE & regulation compliance stand point to management.
Reviewing & monitoring compliance to the company HSEMS by conducting regular inspections & internal auditing of process & operational safety.
Designing & implementing international industry best practice to exceed regulatory compliance, leading safety campaigns to motivate & facilitate safety cultural changes.
Provide ad-hoc support to operation safety team with respect to HAZOP’S, PTW system & RISK Assessment studies for high risk activities.
Auditing against standards & reporting any non-compliance of contractors with proposed recommendation to projects and plant management.
Reviewing sub contractor’s health and safety plan, highlighting area of improvement and tracking safety points to ensure compliance with company HSE procedures
Empowering and leading organization personnel to work to their maximum capability and efficiency to ensure the success of ES&H across the Group.
Investigating accidents & develop a comprehensive action plan to eliminate recurrence.
Reviewing reports of safety inspections on daily basis & following management for close out.
Provide weekly and monthly inputs of HSE statistics.
Supervising lifting activities, inspection of critical equipment & conducting scaffold inspection in high risk activities.
Providing leadership in change management, such as behaviour based safety.
Safety aspects of plant & equipment to ensure design requirement are met and maintained.
Ability to interpret legislation and guidance to ensure effective compliance.
Initiate weekly site safety sampling and site safety walk with all top management.
Carry out monthly inspection of Fire Fighting Equipments & make recommendations if needed.
• Control of high risk job through work permit procedures: PTW, Isolation Certificates & JHA.
• Monitor & ensure confined space entry procedures, scaffolding safety, lifting & rigging procedures are being implemented as specified in the project HSE requirements.
• Active participation in all evacuation drills & ER drills conducted by the project EPC & PMC.
• Accidents / Incidents & near miss investigations & reporting, follow through with any trainings to prevent the recurrence of accidents or incidents in the site.
• Liaise with officials from the regulatory authorities to ensure the organization is compliant with all local and mandatory requirements.
• Conduct internal audits with the aim of identifying safety loopholes, issuing NCR’S, & follow up for the immediate rectifications.
• Conduct frequent site safety inspections to identify visible Hazards & Risks in the site.
• Arrange for the inspection & calibration of Company equipments & power tools by third party.
• Coordinate with EPC to ensure that all activities are being performed as per procedures by enforcing SAFE Systems of work such as LOCK-OUT & TAG-OUT (LOTO) procedures.
• Conduct safety inspection for scaffolds, fill & hang the scafftag as per the status of the scaffold.
• Responsible for the yearly inspection & color coding of plant equipments, lifting tackle tools, mobile equipment, electrical equipments & power tools as required by the EPC & PMC.
• Make arrangements for designating & marking assembly points, smoking shelters & displaying safety slogans & banners at the various locations.
• Conduct daily tool box talks & raise emergency alarm in case of emergency situations like gas leakages.
• Arrange & organize ‘SAFETY ENHANCEMENT SCHEMES’ for employee motivation.
