Supervises the day to day activities of operational HSE services to ensure that all personnel adhere to the Company’s HSE Rules and Regulations and safe work practices.
Ensures implementation of safe systems of work by carrying out regular inspections in all operational areas. Highlights matters of concern with recommendations to the Management for corrective action. Follows up on implementation of recommendations.
Carries out on-site HSE induction programmes for all Company and sub-contractor personnel to ensure awareness of HSE requirements and standards.
Identifies and conducts various Fire and HSE Trainings while on work locations based on the Company’s approved HSE Training Matrix.
Participates in all fire fighting and emergency incident activities in order to ensure that correct procedures are followed and risk to personnel and physical plant/equipment is minimized.
Conducts and coordinates investigations of incidents and assist in investigation of major incidents. Respond to Operational related emergencies and giving advise as required.
Ensures fire and emergency equipment is in place and maintained in optimum operating condition through regular servicing and maintenance schedules.
Assists the Lead HSE Engineer in the implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS).
Identifies work hazards, their effects and implements risk reduction measures in relation to his area of responsibility and implements Departmental objectives.
Participates on HSE meetings on work location to discuss and resolve HSE issues prevailing on site.
Participates on Risk Assessment meetings for mitigating critical activities and ensure that these are properly communicated to both supervision and work force for NPCC and sub-contractors.
