•Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of the construction project; monitor and coordinate work performed by construction, engineering, and other related departments.
•Review and execute proposed designs and building specifications for appropriateness to required function and/or institutional standard. Furthermore, initiates revisions where appropriate; advise consultants and clients as to how best to achieve required results.
•Ensure that project operations follow design specifications and with client requirements.
•Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client requirements are met.
•Authorize the issuance of contracts, purchase orders, and change orders, and approves contractor invoices for payment.
•Assist Resident Engineer in work sequencing to expedite project delivery and to minimize disruption of ongoing operations.
•Inspects, approves, and accepts completed projects, ensuring conformance with institutional standards, building and life safety codes.
•Represent the institution in business with customers, consultants, contractors, and other public and/or private agencies and organizations.
•Researches and prepares various reports pertaining to operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and/or other issues, as appropriate

Monitoring all Architectural Engineering aspects of the project to ensure compliance with approved and proper standards.
Review and monitor variations in the work to
mitigate time and cost or any required changes.
Supervise, guide and liaison with other AREs, Site Architect, the Inspectors and Project
Engineers to provide support and guidance as required.
Review the non-conformance dispositions, corrective actions, preventative actions and recommended in non-conformance reports, monitor and verify corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformity.
Liaising with the parallel Civil/Structural Engineers to flag and rectify any issues which may affect the stability or function of any civil/structural components or systems.
Inspection of works relative to their portion of the project.
Ensuring QA/QC, review Method Statements, ITP’s and Field Inspection procedures from Contractor and provide comments
Develop project protocols and guidelines in the finishing process to support Client/end user requirements.
Expedition of approvals from the Inspection Teams if it appears to be stalled or delaying the project.
Ensure compliance with all the requirements of handing over documentation for the milestone achievements and end of the project.
Maintain registers of all submittals and testing, both on site and off site.
Maintain full site records, including daily site diaries in an approved format, and formal monthly progress photography.
Provide reports on the progress of the work.
Prepare reports related to administration and control related to the quality of the work performed.

Review Architectural Material Submittals from Contractor and provide comments.
Responsible and supervising all ongoing Architectural activities at the project site including monthly progress reports and maintaining materials Submittal Log.
Evaluation of shop drawings and IFC drawings and proving the site inspectors and contractors
team on-site / off-site design solutions.
Review Architectural Supplier/Manufacturer/Sub-Contractor/Test Laboratory prequalification Submittals from Contractor and provide comments.
Production and coordination of technical drawings and guidance details including BOQs.
Monitoring of all on-going execution/finishing activities.
Attend contract scope clarification meetings as part of the Project team to confirm the final requirements of the project following contract award.
Act as technical resource for field queries.
Research and document local construction materials and techniques.
Identify and document emerging issues and possible solutions as well as good practices.
Ensure that all contractual tests were carried out as per the project specification and review the outcome of these tests. Witness the tests where necessary
Working within a Project team and to provide support on the architectural services to ensure that the project in its entirety is delivered to the client at the required quality, on time and within budget.
Carry out QA audits for Contractors, their Sub-contractors, Suppliers and Manufacturers where necessary

Preparing construction documents, specifications, and bid documents.
Act as technical resource for field queries.
Research and document local construction materials and techniques.
Identify and document emerging issues and possible solutions as well as good practices.
Working within a Project team and to provide support on the architectural services to ensure that the project in its entirety is delivered to the client at the required quality, on time and within budget.
Coordination of design activities from the commencement of a project through to completion.
Provide a communication link and technical supporting role through all the stages of project
Provide specialist support to the Project Managers and the project teams related to the architectural services associated with specific projects.
Oversee, supervise and liaise with Project Designer(s), Junior Architects, CAD Technicians CAD Operatives and any external design consultants where appointed to work within the project team.
Ensure compliance with the requirements of the building code, including the undertaking of risk assessments.
Attend site at appropriate intervals to check standards of workmanship and materials being used in the construction as per specifications mentioned.
Assist with technical advice to other personnel as required.

Liaising with other professionals as necessary to project design.

Responsible for the accurate preparation of design and documentation required to
enable the project team to deliver projects on time, to budget and to the Client’s satisfaction.
Conduct a site survey, as required, prior to commencing the contract work to ensure compliance with the proposed design and scope of works.
Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, where appropriate, from Local Authority approvals to any specific clean room and specialist Industry standards that may apply.
Attend site meetings with the client and Projects Team as required.
Assist with technical advice to other personnel as required
Any other duties that may be required under the scope of work of the project.

Production of damage needs assessment forms and participation in assessment of activities.
Monitoring all on-going field activities.
Liaise with social and information teams on the preparation of public awareness materials.

Contribute to developing social mobilization and technical activities guidelines, training curricula, and information material.
Effectively coaching Local Monitoring Teams on their duties and responsibilities in the area of technical reconstruction/construction reporting.
Establishing effective working relationships with the local counterparts.
Through monitoring site visits ensure required quality, timely completion and value for money of construction works.
Maintain regular correspondence (written and oral) with relevant stakeholders where the project is implemented
Providing effective monitoring and supervision of rehabilitation/reconstruction/construction
Carry out field surveys and documentation of construction practices.
Carry out building inspection of in-progress and completed construction.

Co-ordinating project activities and implementation of the activities related to rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction with relevant stakeholders and UN-HABITAT country office.
Contribute to development of project work plans and related reporting of project to partner organizations
Co-ordinate and manage activities related to designing, preparing bills of quantities (BOQs) and
construction process
Support Program Manger by raising awareness on all findings and issues and ensuring timely sharing of information
Providing expertise to implement components of Project which relates to hazard resistant construction activities.
Providing technical assessment of rehabilitation/reconstruction/construction needs, preparation
of technical documentation/scope of works.
Work with the local communities, skilled and semi-skilled people for capacity building reasons.
