• Manages the Procurement and Logistics workforce.
• Develop a Logistics, Contracts and Procurement strategy programme to reflect the Company’s objectives for the coming years. Utilize this strategy to improve related policies and procedures and ensures adherence to these policies and procedures.
• Initiates the preparation of contracts and tenders on behalf of the Company.
• Acts as Secretary to the Internal Tender Committee (ITC), including the development and maintenance of the ITC processes, as well as ensuring adherence to these processes.
• Checks and approves all local purchase orders (LPO). Also approves all Material Requisitions.
• Supervises routine purchasing by the department ensuring that the list of approved vendors and suppliers is utilized in keeping with Company Procurement policies.
• Verifies contracts and contractual terms, identifies the best possible terms and conditions to meet the commercial and technical needs of the Company for each contract.
• Undertakes the training and development of all the team members with special focus on Omani nationals.
• Delivers complete logistical support to Oman Sail teams including shipping, accommodation, food, transport, documentation, technical equipment and finance in a timely and effective manner.
• Manages all the shipments of the Company .
• Maintains financial records for the department.
• Conducts regular performance reviews and appraisal of new and existing suppliers, contractors, agents & service-providers to assess their performance.
• Recommends improvements to the Logistics & procurement procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to stakeholders.
• Supervises a team of logistics personnel undertaking movement in an area or within a function.
• Ensures maintenance of up to date country and plant shipping instructions by mode of transportation.
Negotiates agreements with local carriers, forwarding and customs agents.
• Leads the coordination effort with the projects managers in preparation of goods for shipping.
• Ensures proper packing, marking, labeling, weight and dimensions of cargo.
• Ensures compliance with shipping instructions to final destination; supervises and creates documentation required to ship goods to end destination as per shipping instructions.
• Obtains import and export permits and licenses; whenever necessary.
• Responsible for the accurate completion of the Shippers’ Dangerous Goods Declaration form for hazardous cargo.
• Ensures compliance of the logistics organization with policies, procedures and local laws, and global logistics guidelines.
• Maintaining financial records for the department and assisting Director with collating the detailed monthly spend of diverse teams.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and appraisal of new and existing suppliers, contractors, agents and service-providers to assess their performance.
• To coordinate and ensure all boats have correct documentation for the activity they are undertaking - registration, insurance, radio licenses etc.
• Generate timely and accurate logistics reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.
Projects & Activities :
❖ Laser World Championship Oman 2013-2014:
• Finalizing the exports and imports procedures of all the event containers.
• Preparation of all the documents, letters & temporary permits that are essential to complete the shipping and custom clearance processes.
• Coordinating the inspection process with the Customs Office.
• Getting the permits for the Dangerous goods.
• Hiring cranes, forklifts, and trucks. Etc.
❖ Sailing Arabia The Tour Event (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)
• Responsible for all the shipping transactions during the event & monitor the movement of the event's cargo within the Gulf Countries.
• Official communication with the Gulf States customs authorities in order to facilitate the movement of all the event's equipments & boats.
• Preparation of all the documents, letters & permits which are essential to complete the shipping and custom clearance processes.
• Responsible for finalizing the immigration processes for all the sailors and committee boat during the event within the Gulf countries.
• Follow-up with the Customs office in regards of customs deposit.
❖ Extreme Sailing Series Event (2012, 2013, 2014)
• Export and import all the events containers.
• Ensuring to have all the necessary paperwork to facilitate the movement of the containers.
• Liaising with customs office to obtain temporary import permit.
• Coordinating the inspection process with the Customs Office.
• Getting the permits for the Dangerous goods.
• Hiring cranes, forklifts, and trucks. Etc.
• Follow-up with the Customs office in regards of customs refund.
❖ MOD 70 Events (2012, 2013, 2014)
• Responsible for moving the company's containers between the European countries within the time frame & by selecting the most economic mode of transportation.
• Coordinate the packing & loading of the container with the events organizers & shipping company.
• Providing storage area for the containers.
• I was in charge of handling, maintaining and building relationships with SME customers. Also, support customers with transactions, process their applications, and monitor their accounts and advice customers when required.
