Planning & Strategy Development - Lead the formulation of product sourcing, operations and contracting plans and strategies by understanding and analysing business needs.

To develop and implement a flexible production organization which is focused on customer service, asset utilization and cost control.

Scope includes three green leaf threshing plants and four factories producing 80 billion+ sticks
Above Market Sourcing, planning & logistics for all three end markets

Implement target operating model through lean organisational design & standardised processes
Lead Transition Management for SAA and ensure a smooth cutover with no UOP/sales impact
Lead the Procurement and Fleets & Facilities team to ensure security and flexibility of supply of goods and services, excluding leaf and wrapping materials with appropriate quality at the lowest cost of acquisition. Manage a total spend of Rs. 5.5 billion annually across the two factories, GLT, Leaf Areas and Marketing Locations, and execute Strategic Sourcing Projects involving internal and external stakeholders as per milestones and deadlines in line with the local plans and regional commitments.

Successfully completed construction of coal fired mega barns to facilitate new leaf model at PTC

Prepared plans for 10s ban scenario, finalized business case and arranged regional approval, including additional Rs. 120 Mn.
Continued engagement with WAPDA & SuiGas authorities to help both factories with matters related to these two departments.
Initiated centralization of HVAC contracts for all locations across Pakistan.
Responsible for providing quality Engineering Services to Jhelum Factory and ensuring world class EH&S standards. Also support technology enhancement in line with manufacturing footprint Plan & execution of Engineering Projects.
Achieved highest ever reduction in MWH/mil of approx 9% in 2009 & another 6% reduction in 2010. Initiatives include replacement of in-efficient air con units & motors, Introduction of LVD lights in high consumption areas, energy audits, etc.
Achieved highest ever rating in International EH&S audit for Jhelum Factory
Achieved 73% reduction in load shedding hours by using relationship & close liaison with WAPDA & SuiGas authorities
Successfully installed & commissioned first ever facility management system for Jhelum factory. This integrated system has information of all manufacturing services including power consumption, faults, flow reading, temperatures, etc.
Plan and manage Shift operation in SMD to achieve output targets within agreed limits of quality, cost, EH&S and productivity.
Lead his shift as Production Manager JF in achieving 2.0 billion milestones for SMD-JF in May-07. Achieved highest ever CPMH of 24, 724/-, lowest ever WM waste of 1.45 & highest ever production of 2.062 billion.
As part of JF waste reduction project, lead 'cigarette waste reduction project' in last quarter 2008. Key activities included control of leftovers, improved loose ends, material & product rejections, etc. JF achieved lowest ever WM waste of 1.6%.
Successfully lead 5S implementation project in JF which has resulted in improved housekeeping standards & reduction of unnecessary items in Jhelum resulting in productivity improvement. JF is the first site in Pakistan to achieve 5S certification.
Launched Bright Ideas in JF (Emp. Suggestion Scheme) along with a cross functional team from SMD, PMD, EHS, HR & CBA. This scheme received more than 550 suggestion in 6 months. Scheme is aimed at employee engagement.
Plan and manage Shift operation in SMD to achieve output targets within agreed limits of quality, cost, EH&S and productivity.
As part of SCOR project ‘Contributors’ installed & commissioned online cig. waste monitoring system on making & packing machines for reduction in overall cig. waste. AKF achieved lowest ever WM waste of 1.99%.
In implementation of Project ‘Slender’ manning reduction phase, prepared scenarios during the agreement phase & lead his shift in successful & seamless implementation of revised crewing in SMD-AKF. It resulted in 20% manning reduction.
Prepared comprehensive improvement plan to improve performance of his shift in AKF on the basis of employee assessment activity & TNA which included balance strengths, highlighting machine issues through focus groups.
Initiated & successfully replicated in all shifts, Quality Circle Meeting (QCM) in AKF & than JF
Responsible for execution of all Engineering Projects. Also involved in preparation and monitoring of Capital and Revenue Budgets.
Induction of new high speed machines in Secondary & Primary Manufacturing.
Installed and commissioned Primary conditioning line ex Darlington resulting in 5% saving in density
Experience in project execution and in the design of complete real-time computer systems for data acquisition and process control in a totally integrated automation system. Also involved in bidding and offer stage of several projects.
