Responsibilities & Duties:
I belong to Corrosion and inspection service management, and some of my activities are:

• Install and retrieve corrosion coupons, ER probes, and full handling of Corrosion Coupons as per NACE RP0775 standard.
• Estimate & Monitor the corrosion rate (MPY) and adjust the chemical dosing rate, as required, Optimize corrosion protection chemical consumption.
• Microbial Induced Corrosion analysis, develop & Follow up Chemical Treatments (Biocides, Scale inhibitor, O2 scavenger, Demulsifier and Corrosion inhibitor), chock & continuously.
• Determine the appropriate suitability and application of NDT examinations (Visual inspection, UT, LRUT, MT, and Baroscopic).
• Generate & develop inspection reports, anomaly reports, scope of work, method statement, risk assessment, progress report, work permits..
• Interpret corrosion trends or other information required to inform wider integrity management processes.
• Monitor cathodic protection systems, using applicable survey procedures and equipment.
• On-stream inspection (OSI) program and familiarize with various inspection program (Dummy support, Dead leg, )
• Determine corrosion sectors from process flow diagrams.
• Assign corrosion circuits and CML’s from P&ID’s, review of process changes for impact on OSI Program and adjust the CMLs or intervals as required.
• Evaluate the differences between the various forms of corrosion. Explain corrosion mechanisms involved in the main corrosive environment especially encountered in oil, gas and utilities facilities.
• Analyze the relationship between failure analysis and materials selection (Root Cause Analysis).
• Identify likely failure mechanisms, troubleshooting vital process control systems, and expected rates of failure and advice on system recommendations through report reviews.

• Corrosion Assessment and Monitoring:
• Conduct corrosion assessments on pipelines, equipment, structures, and other critical assets.
• Use advanced inspection tools and techniques (e.g., ultrasonic testing, visual inspection,
corrosion probes) to evaluate the condition of materials.
• Implement corrosion monitoring systems and interpret data to detect early signs of
degradation.
• Corrosion Mitigation and Prevention:
• Develop and implement corrosion prevention programs, including coating, cathodic
protection, and material selection.
• Recommend appropriate corrosion-resistant materials for construction and maintenance.
• Design and oversee corrosion protection systems for new projects and existing infrastructure.
• Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze test data and inspection results to identify potential causes of corrosion and
recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, including findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for
management.
• Provide recommendations for corrosion control on specific projects or equipment.
• Collaboration and Consultation:
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and maintenance teams to integrate
corrosion management practices into overall maintenance and construction plans.
• Provide expertise on the selection of materials and coatings that best mitigate corrosion risks
for different environments.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to
corrosion control (e.g., NACE, ISO, ASME).
• Stay current with the latest advancements in corrosion technology and control methods.

• Conduct training for staff and colleagues on corrosion prevention and control methods.

Corrosion Assessment and Monitoring:
• Conduct corrosion assessments on pipelines, equipment, structures, and other critical assets.
• Use advanced inspection tools and techniques (e.g., ultrasonic testing, visual inspection, corrosion
probes, corrosion coupons, ..), to evaluate the condition of materials.
• Carry out cathodic protection measurement & generate report accordingly.
• Implement corrosion monitoring systems and interpret data to detect early signs of degradation.
Chemical Analysis:
• Develop and follow up chemical treatments (Biocides, Scale inhibitor, O2 Scavenger, Demulsifier and
corrosion inhibitor), chock & continuously.
• Select and evaluate the efficiency of the injected chemicals.
• Perform oil & water analysis (Salinity, Density, Total Alkalinity/Hardness, TSS, TDS, ..).
• Full handling with HACH chemical analysis method.
Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyse test data and inspection results to identify potential causes of corrosion and recommend
corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, including findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for management.
• Provide recommendations for corrosion control on specific projects or equipment.
Collaboration and Consultation:
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and maintenance teams to integrate corrosion
management practices into overall maintenance and construction plans.

(inhibitor, biocides, etc….)
• Define of anti-corrosion strategy using proper chemical treatment based on the corrosion analysis
results and key indicators.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and samples to be used in performing analysis.
• Interpret and evaluate data, create an Electronic Data Package (EDP), and generate the final report.
• Investigates unusual/unacceptable results, recommending corrective actions as needed to drive the
quality and safety of products.
• Create and implement standards operating procedures for testing sampling and processing of plant
product.

• Preparing equipment for commissioning, start-up or maintenance processes.
• Retrieve and install Corrosion Coupons & ER Probes using mechanical retrieval tool.
• Production activities (shut down operations, preparation and start up) as a plant foreman.
• Training and overseeing junior operators.
