I am responsible for increasing the organization's online visibility through managing the organization's website, writing its e-newsletter and other promotional material, and managing social media accounts.
I also network with media representatives locally and communications personnel working for ministries of health in the region.
I have been working for the organization for three years now, and as such developed knowledge of the public health field for which I develop content on almost a daily basis.
After a year and half of working with the organization, my responsibilities were expanded. Now, I was in charge of writing all of the news articles, writing and co-designing the electronic and printable versions of the organization's newsletter, writing content for the website, and managing the organization's social media accounts.
My responsibilities also included photography, photo-editing, and basic video editing.
In this position, I assisted the Senior Communications Specialist in writing news articles, creating social media posts, developing website content, and writing the organization's quarterly newsletter.
I taught and coordinated Essay Writing (an advanced writing course) to students of literature and translation.
In collaboration with Fulbright scholar at UOP at the time, I organized a cultural exchange project for the aforementioned course. The project entailed the exchange of essays, via email, between my students and American students in Massachusetts, USA: Fairfield University (fall semester 2012) and Acton Boxborough Regional High School (spring semester 2013).
While I was doing my MA degree, I worked on a freelance basis.
My portfolio includes corporate entities (James Walter Thompson \[JWT\], Asteco Property Management, Tkiyet Um Ali, Al Ain Homes, and individual clients.
I wrote website content, press releases, company profiles, speeches, and proposals. I also translated content from Arabic into English.
Action Global Communications is an agency with an international presence in over 40 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
Clients I worked with included Grand Hyatt Hotels, Itisaluna, Capital Bank, Extensya, Nadia Dajani Jewelery Store, BMI, amongst others.
Thesis Title: Race and Gender in John Brunner’s Dystopian Novels: Stand on Zanzibar, The Jagged Orbit, and The Sheep Look Up.
Top Student Award: Ranked 1st / 170 in my class.
District-Level Top Student Award: Ranked 1st in my district in the General Secondary Education Examination of 2004 (for which I received the Ministry of Higher Education's full scholarship to fund my undergraduate studies). Class valedictorian
