Assist in planning, directing and coordinating activities of multiple projects in the areas of IT, systems Integration, business process management and business development.
•Currently in charge of the following projects:
•LogiSoft, a shipping and freight forwarding industry oriented ERP. This ERP consists of a complex web application to serve the shipping and freight forwarding industry, involving servers, virtualization, huge databases, and a large number of users accessing the solution 24/7.
•Cargo terminal and logistics software, a solution to manage the cargo and port inventory (from delivery, shipping, till delivery to client at destination). This project consists of a web application to handle the inventory, along with an efficient barcode scanning solution (Mobile apps for business using Motorola heavy-duty scanning terminals), with barcode labeling.
•Managing the integration of the above projects with 3rd party solutions and software used by the customers.
•Managing and delivering network plans and server/communication rooms for the holding companies (required travelling in many occasions to Europe). Managed the contractors for delivery and implementation, and managed the delivery of the products.
•Review, evaluate, formulate and execute project plans, schedules and budgets for small to mid-size IT and organizational projects.
•Coordinate software design and development activities and managed a small team of 3 developers.
•Close projects and ensure project deliverables are achieved within time, cost and scope.
Design and maintain the company website.
•Administer centralized solutions for business (AV, ERP, communication rooms, networks, licenses…)
•Customize reports using Lists & Labels reporting utility built in with the ERP.
•Provide testing and quality assurance of the developed modules to check if they adapt with business rules.
• Manage the databases and generated reports upon request.
• Implement business intelligence reports and solutions using Microsoft SSRS and SSDT.
•Implement communication rooms (servers, firewalls, switches and IP telephony).
•Manage and tutor the Helpdesk support team (3 junior helpdesk operators) responsible of:
•Implementing and maintaining inter-branches communication through VPN tunnels using security assets (Fortinet)
•Creating and supporting client mailboxes on Microsoft Exchange server (2007 and 2010)
•Assisting and troubleshooting end-user PC and mobile devices
•Solving software-specific issues and assisting the users
•Maintaining the VoIP network between the branches
•Creating and managing user profiles on the server (active directory)
•Creating and maintaining Group Policy, shared resources (directories and devices)
•Installing new peripherals and maintaining existing ones
Primary instructor and curriculum lead for IT Essentials course offered by Cisco
Primary instructor for Cisco Discovery 1 (1st of four levels for CCNA certification from Cisco)
Developed small business applications and tools to help the staff complete their daily tasks.
•Ensured the migration from paper work and the use of limited and outdated tools by introducing custom built software and tools (databases, client applications for data entry, reporting tools…)
•Applications that I have developed:
•Payment reminder system, used by the accounting department to control and schedule their due payments. The application was developed under Java and MS-SQL.
• Freight Control, a set of tools to manage the stock, inventory, deliveries, cargo lists and mismatch reports. The application was developed using Java and MS-SQL.
•Helpdesk support team member providing the following tasks:
•Creating users on active directory
•Creating network directories and deploying them using Group Policy
•Installing and configuring new network peripherals (PCs, printers, firewalls, IP phones, wireless access points and switches)
•Creating VPN tunnels for inter-branch communication
•Created and configured VoIP extensions on the VoIP gateway
•Created and configured mailboxes on Exchange server and client mail software
•Administered the company database server and performed custom queries to generated reports upon request.
