• To be on duty for major missions according to the “Senior Officers On-Call Plan”
• To counsel and advise the local Officer in Charge at the area of responsibility assigned, of a given major incident with regard to:
• The general approach to be taken to fulfil a given general task.
• The advisable spatial and/or time related and/or logistical and/or communicative organization of the scene and the resulting individual tasks for sectors and units.
• units necessary and capable to fulfil the general task, additional units to be called to the scene and their allocation to the appropriate sector and/or individual task
• special dangers of the actual incident scene and the appropriate countermeasures and /or measures that must be avoided
• logistical issues e. g. water supply, replenishment and/or exchange of equipment, crews and others
• approaches that necessitate deviation from established SOP’s or are not covered by such
• measures to be taken to ascertain, maintain or improve the general safety of the public, the fire-fighters and other responders
• measures to be taken to minimize an incidents influence on critical infrastructure and the general public
• measures to be taken to minimize loss of property
• Other measures deemed necessary and/or advisable (e. g. closing of roads, evacuation of buildings, measurement of contaminants, containment of runoff, warning of the public, etc.)

• to lead (command and control) any sector, number of units or special task assigned to or taken over by him
• to counsel other authorities (e. g. municipalities, the police, airport-and harbour-authorities) at major incidents as necessary and/or called for.
• to prepare for and/or adequately inform the media.
• to prepare Mission Reports for major incidents .
• To be available for major incidents where more than the number of EFRC Fire-fighters (generic term) available on shift are needed
• To manage all tasks of the assigned Fire Station, including but not limited to:
• Prepare shift plans, vacation plans, staff-development plans, payment sheets and others as necessary and/or assigned
• Coordinate tasks and plans and all other relevant issues with the local Officer of the Station
• Take all measures deemed necessary to ascertain the full capability of all the Fire Station’s staff (EFRC and other) at all times
• Evaluate the performance of all staff and prepare reports on the EFCR staff
• Organize and supervise the routine work of the assigned Fire Station (e. g. care and maintenance of vehicles, tools and equipment, PPE, SCBA-Workshop, on shift training by his staff and others)
• Supervise the preparation of Mission Reports of his subordinates
• To inform about and/or elaborate on and/or prepare for decision of his superior (as called for) all issues that either
- Are of general importance for the service and/or
- Concern the relationship to Abu Dhabi Police and/or
- Could have consequences outside his area of responsibility
any other task assigned by his superior
• Direct and order all Units deployed (Quick Intervention, Civil Defence, Police, other agencies) unless decided otherwise by his superior or the local Officer in Charge
• Direct and order all subordinate EFRC staff
