Bateel is a leading brand in the gourmet food market with a strong market presence in sixteen countries. Bateel is diversified into three segments - Bateel Café, Bateel Retail, and Bateel B2B. My responsibility includes but is not limited to preparation and analysis of financial budgets/forecasts, financial and operational analysis, conducting monthly management meetings to discuss the division financials, support to the management in optimizing the Opex spend.
Prepared savings focused rental models by division which directly led to savings of more than AED 5 Mil.
Introduced café sales channel-wise profitability which helped business heads in getting more insight into the business.
Spearheaded café analysis with a key focus on optimizing the operational and financial KPIs in terms of staffing, space, category rentals management and optimizing wastage/mark-outs.
Prepared and presented feasibilities for potential expansions with thorough market research and historical analysis.
Performed analysis for BDA- Business Development Agreements- keeping in mind the Route-to-Market strategy of the company for B2B (FMCG) business.
Assisted B2B (FMCG) business head in introducing the distributor model in KSA for Modern Trade business. Key responsibilities included finalizing distributor pricing model, consumer and trade promotion strategy and sales team commission model.
Assisted in preparing a consolidated 5 years business plan with a key focus on reengineering the business model and optimizing the operational cost.
Led the project to atomize month-end financial and operational reporting in ‘QlikView’ software through a detailed understanding of various stakeholder requirements and capability of internal IT resources.
Representing finance team in monthly internal audit meetings to discuss operational inefficiencies & high-risk areas.
My responsibilities include, but not limited to - Strategic MIS, financial/operational analysis, management reporting, presentations to stakeholders, budgets & forecasting, predictive analytics, variance analysis of budget/forecast vs actuals, balance sheet schedule reviews, balance sheet accuracy for statutory & internal audits, and system migration. I am also part of VAT implementation committee for the group.
I was also Chief coordinator shared service core committee. I had Introduced process driven approach for store opening, closing & renovation and monitored each process by holding weekly core committee meetings and resolved all the inter-departmental conflicts to support the timely delivery of each project.
My responsibilities as a business analyst include business partnering, but not limited to - Gross margin analysis, monitoring A&P/trade spends, review of Price to Trade/retail pricing, in market sales analysis, promotional spends analyze, analytical review of the distributor claims and distributor transition and settlement, business development agreement analysis, budget/rolling forecast.
As a reporting Analyst, my duties were
- Preparing, consolidating, and reporting MIS reports to Dubai, Singapore and New Zealand based senior management.
Mid-month, Flash, MMR, and various financial reports within the strict deadlines from 1st to 10th working day.
Comprehensive monthly financial pack includes balance sheet review and cash flow analysis, financial dashboard, quick summary financials, gross margin analysis and EBIT waterfall.
Yearly budgets / rolling forecast
- Accomplished financial due diligence, forensic study, internal audit, internal control review, statutory audits different manufacturing and trading businesses.
- Developed financial review, business proposals and financial projections for schools, IT software products and educational products to be established in India and UAE.
