Working with IBM as Contractor for STC in Network engineer Position in NOC Department.
Project: ITCC/KAFD Operation managed by IBM Saudi Arabia
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Providing a high level of technical support for IP MPLS network, Routing Protocol technologies on Cisco Network with mixed technologies.
- Responsible for the Implementation of all NOS deliverables and reports in the ITCC/KAFD network.
- Acting as an interactive channel between ITCC/KAFD and Cisco FTS (Focused Technical Support Services) and NOS (Network Optimization Support) teams.
- Reviewing and implementing all Cisco recommendation technical reports.
- Reviewing and Implementing Cisco Network Optimization reports (Syslog, Analysis, Audit and best practices Reports).
- Upgrading the IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE, NX-OS software for ITCC/KAFD devices.
- Initiating and approving network configuration changes, enhancements, cleanups, and
- Working with the configuration management team to deploy them.
- Carry out testing of new features and functionality required by the customer in a laboratory environment and to implement and verify that they are operating correctly in the live network.
- Test patches and fixes to operating software and to ensure that they are implemented and functioning correctly in the live network.
- Assist the customer to develop Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures.
- Provision and troubleshoot new customer services (L2VPN, L3VPN, DIA, VPLS, and Broadband)
- Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches (Installed in Customer's premises).
- Coordinated disaster response plans with department management.
- Kept system at maximum uptime through proactive oversight and scheduled maintenance.
- Handled responsibilities of providing 24x7 networking support in a production environment.
- Performed the tasks of monitoring network performance by using standard management tools (e.g IBM Tivoli).
- Handling TT, Change Request, Service Request and MDTs for any activity in ITCC/KAFD network using IBM Maximo System.
- Managed outages, failures, and service degradation issues, which included incident management, problem management, root-cause analysis, performance monitoring/analysis, and detailed reporting.
Working with TCC as Network engineer in VSAT project for the MOI to provide different services for the ministry e.g. (IP Telephone, video Conference, and Internet over satellite) between General Department of Telecommunication branches in the MOI.
Working with kushite as a network engineer in the telecommunication department responsible for installing and configuring different nodes o the network e.g. routers, switches, Core Switches, ASA Firewalls . Also worked in the following projects with kushite in the Ministry of the Interior in Sudan :
• Installing cisco core switches and Nexus switches in the Civil Registration System (CRS) Data Center.
• Connecting different sites of the electronic passport system throw VPN ( Virtual Private Network ) .
• The project of MENOS (Multimedia Exchange Network over Satellite) which is used for connecting electronic passport system and CRS.
