My first role was in the Industrial Relations team. In this HR-based position I worked closely with Unions, Staff and Family Associations to evaluate terms and conditions for Diplomatic staff and their families. I was responsible for a complete re-wire of Diplomatic Service Policy (DSP) on Personnel and Families to ensure equality and diversity were highlighted consistently throughout. Confirming that DSP was in complete alignment with British, European and International legislation referring to employment rights, responsibilities, terms and conditions.

Following this assignment, I was posted to the British Embassy in Kiev. This challenging post included the daily HR management of the locally engaged staff, dealing with all aspects of local employee relations and ensuring the comfort and safety of British staff and their families. My key achievement in this role was Creating an artisan workforce that was equipped and trained to deal with a wide range of domestic and property related issues. Developing effective working relationships with Ukrainian suppliers, consultants and international consortia.
