In my current position as a CCTV Engineer, one of my job responsibilities is to design, procure, install, test and commission small to large scale CCTV and security systems.
• Responsible for installation and configuration of telecom and security equipment such as CCTV, Access Control, Boom/Gate Barrier, Fiber Optic Transmission, Paging Panel, and PABX Network.
• Plan, schedule and conduct preventive maintenance of CCTV and Access Control System to prevent system failure.
• Prepare project documentation including Test procedures, Training materials, Bill of Quantity and As-Built drawings.
• Monitors telecom system logs and conduct root cause analysis of failures.
• Installed new telephone lines, ADSL connections and IPTV to residential and corporate customer premises
• Back-up/Restore of server operating systems, application data and user data.
• Administer and maintain the running state of all servers (hardware + software), switches, modems, and routers
• Responsible for ensuring that all engagements are met in terms of project support and in accordance to the predefined conditions set in the maintenance contracts
• Undertake total responsibility for completing the project within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Plans network infrastructure of microwave transmission, LAN and office networks.
• Coordinates with clients, vendors, and contractors for the implementation of installation procedures and safety standards.
• Conducts Site Acceptance Test with clients and third party inspectors on newly-installed telecom equipment with clients and third-party inspectors.
• Performed installation and commissioning of Nokia Microwave Radios
It is a 3-year course with an additional 6 months internship program centered on Electronics Technology within the Telecommunication industry. I was granted full scholarship by Meralco Foundation, Inc. My thesis was about the Fiber Optics Business.
