Preperation of scope of work and technical specifications for 380/115/13.8kV Substations and under ground cables.
1. Working in SEC-WOA Engineering and design office through Saudi consulting services(Saud Consult). Job includes design review of Extra high voltage 132/ 110 KV and 110/ 13.8 KV sub-stations, GIS switchgear base and detail design, grounding system, indoor out door lighting, base and detail design of power transformers (up to 67 MVA), line feeders, interlocking scheme, schematic diagrams review, Auto Bus Transfer scheme, etc. Fully aware about engineering standards of IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA and Saudi Electricity-Western Region Transmission & Distribution Standards such as TMSS, TES, SEEDS etc. Projects which were reviewed and successfully completed are as under;
Extension of 132 KV, Al-Ula substation, Madina. (Contractor- Al-Fanar)
110/13.8 KV new King Abdullah University S/S, Jeddah. (Contractor-AREVA)
110/13.8 KV, Al-Aqeeq S/S, Madina. (Contractor-Siemens)
110/13.8 KV Nuzha S/S, Jeddah. (Contractor - Siemens).
Voltage Improvement in WOA substations & Installation of 07 MVAR Capacitor
Banks in existing 20 substations. (Contractor - ABB)
2. Technical Evaluation of Bids/ tenders related to 110/13.8 KV substations, preparation of scope of work and technical Data sheets.
3. Arranging and attending regular Bi-Weekly Design co-ordination meetings, the purpose of meetings were to resolve the outstanding design issues and monitor the percentage progress of project in order to complete the project on time.
4. Deign Review of Base and Detailed Design of Electrical Equipments such as Transformers (67 MVA), 110 KV GIS, 13.8 KV GIS, Neutral Earthing Resistor (NER), Detuning Reactors, Capacitor Banks and Battery Chargers etc
5. Harmonic study analysis of EHV/HV power system, review of Capacitor banks (10 MVAR - 17.2 KV), detuning reactors (02 mH) and associated surge arresters.
6. Attending Technical coordination meetings (Bi-weekly) and monitor the % age progress of design works and discuss the outstanding design matters.
• Preventive/ Periodic Maintenance of sub-stations 4.16 KV, 13.8 KV, 34.5 KV system, control panels, protection Relays, transformers, motors up to 2050KW, batteries, chargers, 34.5/13.8/4.16 KV circuit breakers, isolators and chiller starters. Trouble shooting and modification works in existing power system of Royal Commission facilities in Jubail industrial city.
• Designing of medium voltage 34.5 KV/13.8 KV/4.16 KV sub stations as per Royal Commission and SEC standards.
• Familiar with the SEC eastern Engineering and Royal Commission standards.
• Hi-pot testing and meggering of under ground cables, fault identification and repairing works.
• Commissioning of electrical equipments and do the necessary testing like contact Testing of switchgears, testing of charging and tripping mechanism of medium voltage and low voltage switchgears. Testing of transformers like transformer turn ratio testing, dielectric testing of transformer oil, continuity testing of windings and testing of tap changer by applying low voltage on primary winding of transformer.
• To maintain the quality of the Preventive/ periodic maintenance work following the quality procedures of the Royal Commission.
• Construction management, Project Planning, scoping and cost estimating for special projects under annual work plan of Royal Commission, Jubail.
• Laying, termination and splicing of 34.5 kV high voltage under Ground Cables at Pump Station # 41, 42 and 43.
• Designing and execution of auto tie system of two feeders 13.8 KV at Royal Commission building and Jubail Industrial College.
• Overall supervision of the department maintenance activities, Technical Evaluation of the bids, proposals for the necessary modification works and its technical justification, submitting the time schedules for the special projects and monitor the pace of work.
• Designing review of low voltage Switchgears, control Panels and preparing of control diagrams, Single line diagrams of low voltage (480/380/220/110 volts) power Distribution system.
• Calculation of short circuit currents and selection for size of cables and circuit breakers according to IEC, BS and PSO standards.
TRAINING BY TATSUNO CORPORATION, JAPAN.
• Preventive maintenance training from Tatsuno Corporation, Japan in February 2000 at Pakistan State Oil House, Karachi, Training Contents of Tatsuno Dispensing Units configuration, designing of circuits, fault rectification of electrical and electronic portion, disassembling and assembling of flow meter / pumping Units, configuration of PCBs, Safety aspects of PCBs, computer programming calibration method / measurement.
• Designing of the low voltage distribution boards, installation testing and commissioning of the dispensing units of Tatsuno Corporation, Japan and Wayne Australia work also includes designing of the lighting level of the new vision petrol pumps and maintains 400 LUX levels for canopy lighting and 200 lux for area lighting by using Philips Lighting software Calculux.
• Maintenance and trouble shooting of the of the low voltage and medium voltage switchgears, motors, transformers and generators, work also includes the Installation, Testing and commissioning of all sorts of Low voltage and medium voltage Electrical equipment’s, Generators, transformers, cable laying, termination, splicing, and control as a Electrical Engineer.
• Installation, testing and commissioning of Enraf (Germany) make tank gauges at Exxon Chemicals, at Karachi, Pakistan.
• Installation, testing and commissioning of 300 KVA generator at Pakistan State Oil Terminal at Sukkur
• Worked as Design and Application Engineer, Responsible for drawing diagrams, designing of Switchgears, control panels of Motor control Centers, Power factor Improvement plants, Auto transfer switch panel. Auto main failure. PLC system, Industrial Electrical Control and Automation, Trouble Shooting of switch gears Job also Includes, Selection of circuit breakers, Cables, Cascading of circuit breakers, contactors relays control panels manufacturing and design was carried out under the technical assistance of Merlin Gerin, France.
• Designing, Installation, testing and commissioning of the low Voltage Panels of the pharmaceutical company Barret Hudson & FJFC fertilizer, Karachi, Pakistan
